It was completely staged. We had to win the space race against Russia.
Was the SR-71 Blackbird fake too?

Maybe because it’s a fairly pointless endeavor. What would be the point of doing it again except to do it?
It would be like calling a girl who let you frick her on the first try after you convinced her you weren't like all the other guys she's dated. What's the point?

People in this thread thinking the Soviets would have had no reason to help the US fake the moon landing.
The Soviet space program was a huge drain on limited resources and leadership wanted out of the space race. Agreeing that the moon landing was real let the USSR divert funds to more pressing matters.

I find it very odd since we put humans there 56 years ago not a single other country has ever attempted to land one of their astronauts there

With near flawless communication from moon back to earth. Meanwhile Elon’s rockets were encountering glitches before getting into space.

For a long time the USSR was the only country that had the resources to make a legitimate attempt but the cost benefit analysis very much pointed to not trying.
You must of missed the part of the Soviet space program where they built a heavy lift rocket and lost 2 of these rockets that didn't leave the atmosphere before a rapid disassembly.

According to that video , there is one of our astronauts still on the moon. They left the guy who filmed that. Such a sacrifice.
Now lets talk about how they got that footage after they left his arse on the moon.

Per ChatGPT. Easy.

The Alleged "Forgotten Astronaut"
> “Who filmed the astronauts leaving the Moon if everyone left?”
No astronaut was left behind. What people are often referencing is footage of the Lunar Module (LM) ascending from the Moon — and yes, it looks like someone is filming it from the surface.
---
??? So How Was That Shot Captured?
Answer: A remotely controlled camera on the Moon.
Apollo 15, 16, and 17 had a television camera mounted on the Lunar Roving Vehicle (LRV).
Before lift-off, the astronauts parked the rover facing the LM and set the camera up.
The camera was then remotely controlled from Earth by NASA’s Mission Control in Houston.
---
?? Remote Control Details:
Operators used a two-second delay to adjust camera tilt and pan.
The signal was transmitted live to Earth via a high-gain antenna.
That’s how the footage of the LM ascending into lunar orbit was recorded — without needing anyone on the Moon to film it.
---
?? Why the Confusion?
It feels like a cinematic shot, so people assume a camera operator must have been left behind.
This leads to jokes or conspiracy-style questions like "Who stayed back to film it?" — but it's all explained by the technology.

Fly Me To The Moon with Channing Tatum and Scarlett Johansson is a funny movie on Apple TV . In the movie, they had a studio all set up to broadcast a fake moon landing in case the real one went sour. Woody Harrelson was also in it and he was great.

Ugh what? That whole line of thinking makes ZERO sense. At the height of the Cold War, they lost the biggest propaganda coup they could ever imagine? They could have backstabbed the U.S., and ratted us out anyway, leaking confidential communications to agree to lie etc.
Not to mention draining the Commie's financial wherewithal would greatly benefit the US and its allies.
And once the Ruskies lost, a continued endeavor made no sense anyway.
Not like getting there had any strategic value. The only thing that counted at the time was who would beat the other out in the space RACE.

My dad's sister was married to a NASA engineer in the 60's. I had a Gemini capsule bank that we bought during the tour we took when visiting them. Saw my 1st MLB game in the Astrodome during that trip too. Rusty Staub hit a HR against the Mets.

The problem with this conspiracy theory is a lot of the footage was faked for propaganda purposes. Just because some of the video is fake does not mean we did not go to the moon.
The issue is two fold:
1. We went to the moon.
2. A lot of fake video was produced for propaganda purposes.
