Kindy funny you ragging on H-town for being a crap hole when just about every LSU grad moves there after graduation.

On a sidenote, I had to go back to Houston for work yesterday since I moved back home to NE LA for a job. I usually take the 59 to Shreveport route back to Monroe but decided to do the I10 route this time and holy frick the Texas plates leaving TX heading East. It was like a hurricane was making landfall in Houston.

I grew up in the Clear Lake area, and am not really a huge fan of Houston, but I have lived in Louisiana for 25 years and

Been all over the USA. Traveled to Houston probably 30 times in 30 years. Without question, New Orleans is the most amazing and exciting city

Paying a premium to live in a condo in midtown to walk to them gets old? For a lot of people, yeah

Democrats control the city. The mayor is democrat. The street roads are just terrible. In fact the democrats control Harris County. They control the courts.....everything. Soon Houston will be another Detroit. Happening in every democrat controlled major city.

The Heights is the best fairly affordable place in the Inner Loop. I’m not a huge fan of the city in general but complaints about the inner loop don’t make much sense to me. Very little flooding outside of Meyerland and Bellaire (which isn’t inner loop anyway), decent amount of parks, and very safe. Government is pretty responsive, too.

The suburbs are more flood prone and of course, the people living there are going to have the shitty commutes, which is probably the worst thing about the city, followed by the generally ugly architecture.
