oh for sure. Some of the best nights of sleep that I've had were cold nights in the bed of my truck with the tonneau cover closed up. It's weird because I feel claustrophobic in a tent but can sleep in the truck bed just fine.

When I used to work offshore I had a cabin with no windows and a completely sealed door top to bottom. I loved that black hole so much.
I fantasized about building a very small room with the same concept in my house but never went through with it.

Get blackout strips for the side of the blinds. Combined with Roman shades, my bedroom is so dark you cannot see a single thing, literally pitch dark.

Fixed it for you.
You have a great opportunity here. Build the fort, sleep in it, and report back. I bet your post will signal how liberating it was to live life on your terms and not give a shite what your wife thinks about it.

From my youth, I slept on the feed bags in the tack room. Some of the best sleep I ever got. Feed bags would have been more firm than the firmest mattress today and night noises in nature are better than city night noises.

Grow a pair and drink whiskey like every other guy.

Growing up we were lower middle class. Mom and dad wouldn't turn the AC below 80 a lot of nights. So I would hang a sheet over a fan and clip the sheet to the fan. Then we would weight the edges of the sheet to the ground to make a wind tunnel and it was nice and cold in there.

My wife and I build a blanket fort in the living room once or twice a year, nice to watch movies in though as we're getting older it's getting harder to do things on the floor so gotta figure out some more padding
