I wont speak for OP, but very often the level of outrage over these situations depends on whether tha listener agrees with the speaker or not.

100% - OP can correct me if I'm wrong but if she had enthusiastically embraced the current immigration policies, etc. I would think OP would not have posted here about telling kids not to be political in these speeches and he would have given her a rousing ovation.
