Yes, it is a literal entitlement of having the highest GPA in your class

Its hard to believe you fricked that up so badly. My granddaughter is the top student in her class, but she was raised correctly so there will be no politics or religion pushed on a captive audience.

my daughter was the valedictorian of her hs graduating class, there was quite a bit of sniping among the finalists, from both the kids and their parents, and a bit of a sense of entitlement

They’ve earned that right ……. I might think theyre full of dog shite, but id sit there and listen.. hell, i might even learn something about how some kid could be “indoctrinated” with hateful, narrow-minded thoughts like that .
No you wouldn't, and neither would anyone else. This is just a rhetorical bluff.

Saw one last night where the young lady blasted immigration policy and said she was not proud to be an American.

She said her parents were immigrants.

Also low key called the community and school a bunch of racists.

How do you stop this from recurring??? Start weighing course credits towards STEM.

You still require the number of courses to graduate in English, Math, Science, Social Studies, PE, Finance, Foreign Language, etc...but you weigh them when calculating contribution to GPA.

First of all...AP credits continue to be graded on a 5-pt scale instead of 4-pt...but:

- PE, Finance, Foreign Language and Fine Arts get 1 credit per course;
- English, History and Social Studies Courses get 2 credits per course;
- Lower Level Math (Algebra I, II and Geometry) and Lower Level Science (Biology) get 2 credits per course;
- Higher Level Math (Advanced Math/Trig and Calculus) and Higher Level Science (Chemistry, Microbiology and Physics) get 3 credits per course.

So, if you get an A in AP Calculus...that's 3 credits x 5 grade scale = 15pts

If you get an A in AP English...that's 2 credits x 5 grade scale = 10pts

If you get an A in PE...that's 1 credit x 4 grade scale = 4 pts

You divide by the total number of credits received, and that gives you the GPA. This way, you receive more contribution to GPA from STEM, than you do from Liberal Arts courses...
