The people that set up their ladders right on the curb deserve everything they get. The rule is 6ft from the curb. You lay the thing down perpendicular to the street and set it up where the top of the ladder lands. Easy peasy. I’m really glad I just do the Uptown parades Saturday because the jockeying that goes on for Endymion is off the charts stupid these days.

Nothing worse than walking up to a parade spot on the neutral ground and the person you know there’s tells you to grab a beer. Then some lady catches you in the ice chest yelling “who are you?!? And “get out of my ice chest!!!”

shite makes me so mad, I had to cut through someones 12x12 tarp on the ground to get to a spot but was carrying an ice chest. Some older women surprised the shite out of me by trying to pull it out of my had. Thankfully someone saw it happen and I didn't have to throw hands with someones mom that day

I do not get the entitlement of I marked my spot it's mine

Back in the day we would go out the night before get a spot set up and stay. I remember my dad and his friends taking shifts at the spot so the could sleep

I can't believe people go to that much trouble with ladders and shite so they can watch the same crap year after year after year.

Mayor Cantrell and the city of New Orleans organize an entire crew of people paid by the city to throw other people's ladders in the trash.

One thing is for damn sure, Democrats never waste an opportunity to spend money on an effort to take other people's shite
It'd be nice if they put those crews to work cleaning our storm drains and maintaining storm-water pumps.

Amazing that the "victims" haven't figured out that Cantrell didn't get their votes in the past, and she ain't worried about needing their votes in the future.

Actually, that looks like the exact people that voted for Cantrell..

Yep. If you want a spot, you need to stay there.

We used to have a friend who had a house on Orleans so we went to their spot every year. They moved about 12 years ago and the next year, my friend and I slept out on the neutral ground to be with our spot. We even ordered a port-o-potty for our group.

Of course in good style, as St. Aug is coming down Orleans to start the parade some of the trash shows up and walks right into our stuff and let's their kids jump right in front of my kids. I looked back a little while later to see the fat fcking dad sitting in my chair.

Oh well, my kids are older now so I'm glad the ladder days are over with. We just show up where ever friends have houses/businesses on the routes and chill with friends. No use stressing over this kind of crap.

These tards spray painting boxes with their names all over Orleans are dumbasses though.

I guess growing in BR I never understood the Mardi Gras thing - don’t get me wrong I’ve always had a blast. And I usually go to maybe one parade every other year. But never marked a spot. Maybe Instead of paint etc for marking your spot how about pissing there and tell them how it’s marked.

If you are stupid enough to leave your personal shite sitting out like that you deserve to have it taken.

Interestingly the people who want others to respect their "place" by doing this are expecting there stuff to be respected, and not taken.

Interesting cycle. Cant ask for "your rules" to be respected when pushing it, when others pushed their own "rules".

Are there not clear rules here that the police cant ticket for?? Seems like a potential cash cow on tix, and quota hitting.

but what say the OT on reserving LSU tailgate spots with tent frames? Isn't that kind of the same thing?

It's exactly the same and makes some of the comments in this thread hilarious.

Some guy earlier was talking about not wanting to be around a bunch of drunk strangers. Guess he never tailgates or goes to bars, etc. Fun life that guy must lead.

The frames that just popped up in "our" spot, for the "best" game of the year. I have seen people show up at 7am, drop off a frame, leave, and not return until 3pm.

I mean, it's the day of and not even that early in the morning. If people wanted that spot so badly it wouldn't be open at 7AM. The two are different

Not setting up ladders and tents 24 hours before and within 6 feet of the road isn't that difficult of a rule to follow

That's your opinion. It's not always just about a parade and I def. don't go to Bourbon St. or Canal during mardi gras.
