Pic #2 is my former neighbor. Rex family, lives on St Chuck. Her husband puts out 4x8 yellow scaffold for the grandkids. Cops tell him to move it off the sidewalk, he moves it back...from Thursday to Sunday everday.
Eta: dont know why she's out there...her ppl watch parades from their big ole front porch behind a gate. They dont neutral ground.

My favorite memory was when a family was standing in front of us on St. Charles and a tow truck went by with their car. Husband, wife and their 2.3 kids went hauling arse after the tow truck.

Nothing worse than walking up to a parade spot on the neutral ground and the person you know there’s tells you to grab a beer. Then some lady catches you in the ice chest yelling “who are you?!? And “get out of my ice chest!!!”

Problem with ladders is the idiots who use them today..
I'm 55, and sat in a ladder when I was a kid. Pops brought it out for every parade, and set it up in the back, not up front on the curb.
Idiots today don't understand the same unwritten rules they had back in the day.. People were more courteous..
