My curiosity is what happens to all these people and banks that financed a $75k truck for $100k with market adjustments and suddenly 18 months later that truck is now worth $50k and they still owe $85k on it?

I think the trick is going to be figuring out whether the car you’re currently driving is going to drop faster or slower than the car you want.

Well as long as payments are being made nothing. Once payments stop the banks are in a tight spot. Repo and take the balance sheet hit or try to work it out. Either way the shits on its way to the fan.
