re: Have you gained weight during Wuflu panic 2020? - DixonCider
Another 6.5 lbs down this week. At this pace I'll be done the cut cycle by the time the gyms reopen....

I would avoid Kingwood like the plague. As people continue to develop what was once a swamp, Kingwood is only going to flood more and more often...

re: Knee surgery this afternoon - Complete tear ACL, partial tear MCL, LCL roughed up - DixonCider
3 ACL reconstructions with some extras. Stool softener, ice, and compression are your best friends. Biggest thing they don't prep you for is the fact that you'll be backed up on opiates trying to drop a steamer with one leg locked out in a brace. Hence the stool softener. As far as the l...

Handgun Instructors: Houston - DixonCider
Greetings to the OB. Lady friend(no pics) is looking to get a handgun. I feel like the topic of which gun to choose has been beaten to death pretty solidly on here, so I'll go ahead and skip over that part. What I was hoping is for someone that would have recommendations for an instructor in...

re: Eado vs Midtown, Houston - DixonCider
There's alot of places in the Washington area(general area around Washington Ave where it runs parallel to Buffalo Bayou.) Gives you quick easy access to I-10, the Heights, Midtown, and all the fun areas. All it takes to get turned away from midtown is seeing it once in the daylight....

re: Mako Pro Skiff 15 - DixonCider
I'll go ahead and throw in a vote for Honda. Dad has a 90 horse four stroke. Standard maintenance and throw the earmuffs on after we run it to get the fuel out the carb, and it's been running strong....

re: WYDI - Toyo FJ Cruiser - DixonCider
Not familiar with the transmission on the FJ, but the 4.0 engine is pretty bomb proof. There was a run of 4Runners that had head gasket issues after about 100k-120k miles, but certainly in the single digits percent wise. Mechanically its a damn sound vehicle. Between the two though, I'd go w...

re: Need new pocket knife, expert help needed - DixonCider
Mini grip isn't assisted opening, but it's buttery smooth and I've never once been inconvenienced by it not being assisted open(coming from someone who went to the full size grip after a cheap assisted opener). A damn fine knife that you can beat to hell and back....

re: Best cell phone for under 500 - DixonCider
Motorola Moto G. I currently have the G5 plus and have not had any issues with the phone. I think you can get the G4 for around 130 right now which is a steal for how well that phone performs. I got the 5 right when it came out and it was only 230...

re: Best .22LR ammo? - DixonCider
I like to shoot the most consistent possible.
CCI is what you want for consistency (or so I'm told) I run damn near anything through my bolt action and don't have issues, but I had this conversation with a gun shop owner a few years back and he swore by CCI for calibrating his e...

Probably a little bit late in this case but I swear by [link=(https://repairpal.com/)]RepairPal[/link]. So far I haven't been led wrong by their shops though admittedly I have fairly limited experience using them. Perfect for anything on an older vehicle....

re: Recommend me a new spinning reel for inshore saltwater - DixonCider
Penn Battle is hard to argue with. Only knock I have on it is that the reel handle is plastic (on the model I bought at least) though I've never had any issues. Also own the predecessor to the NASCI from shimano that was offered at the same price point. Mine gets a little finnicky in cold wea...
