But aren't you also encouraging women NOT to try and do something other than being a baby factory?

I worked my arse off with two jobs so my (now ex) wife could stay home with our 2 young kids after they were born. This also gave her plenty of time to sleep all day so she could stay up all night reconnecting with HS boyfriends on Facebook

Sounds like a horrible job. Do you just get fired when they start school and have to just keep making babies to be employed?

how about only pay them if they're married, don't have any other kids, and don't pay them if hubby makes over 60k a year

oh, and end child support. No longer needed

Would Dad's make the same amount to go to work to afford the mom the luxury of staying at home?

Nah. You’d make 30% more than that. Remember, women only get paid 70 cents on the dollar

I would be all for a $2400/mo. pay for one parent to stay home with kids. That would be a huge boost to the economy and to health and well being of children. And families too.

Only one parent to stay home w/kids and $2400/mo no matter how many kids. The point isn’t payment for work, but payment for a parent to stay home.

All for it.

So there are not enough women that are engineers, doctors, etc because of white men, but lets pay women 2400 a month to stay home and not be engineers, doctors, etc. Will they still blame us?

No.

Why should they get paid for taking some dick and shitting out a kid?

The state wants two people burning fuel and buying lunch and paying into the coffers (so the goldbricking government pensioners can continue to kick it). People would be better off and happier without the Audi payment and keeping mom home.

or just treat the 'head of household' tax status the same as joint filing

on the surface, I wholeheartedly disagree with the principle

BUT I also believe it would be an interesting experiment and I wonder if we would see positive outcomes from it, as I do strongly believe that children have better outcomes with 1 parent being at home

the pros may actually outweigh the cons here

Keeping a 3-6 year old kid at home all day is a LONG day. They go nonstop. And they are outgrowing or have outgrown the afternoon nap.

IDK if I agree with this per se, but I will say having my SO at home with the kids was difficult financially. Its damn hard for the average family to provide on one pay check. But my god was it easier than the daily grind of juggling both our work schedules with our kids activity and school schedules. When we both work there is hardly any time to just relax and have quality family time. With young kids, some incentive to have one parent at home that the government could offer (tax credit) I think could be a good thing.

Except they wouldn’t stay home. They would spend $2000 a month on a babysitter while they played tennis and had lunch margaritas with the other mommies
