I normally don't brag about it but it would be for mine too.

This is the absolute truth. My daughter's school is currently closed due to a teacher testing positive. My wife works nights, so I stayed home a few days the last two weeks to deal with the kids (ages 4 and 6 months), and it's a grind. Wouldn't want to do that every day
This board is jaded towards women because they are fat poor genetic ugly fricks

But men arent cut out for being stay at home parents. We dont have the same "love" and patience to do it

Would it though

So 28,800 in salary, plus if you have 2 kids thats another 12k in daycare savings there minimum(some places it saves you like 24,000), so 40,800 net gain

Yeh, we would take a slight cut with our wives being nurses, but if it existed I would take it for the fam

Unless you’re unemployed i feel like it would be a pretty large pay cut for many

Yes. Only one is in school right now, and by the time the next goes in, we will only have one year of doubled tuition. Northshore public schools ftw.

My wife would go crazy too. She aspires to be more than a mom, not that there's anything wrong with just being a mom.

Have 2 kids in NY and send them to your chelsea daycare and see if she is still taking a paycut doing this

I think these are the ones that could be impacted the most from such a plan. What would be the incentive for a young girl with a high school education (at best) to get out and earn some work experience? They would have to decide between a cashier's job at Hobby Lobby or pumping out a kid and get paid to stay home. I'm afraid too many would take what they believe is the easier option of the two.

Im talking selfishly

I think its easier on a father to have a wife that doesnt work if finances make sense.

Single motherhood among 17-25 year olds is about to explode should that happen.

having a parent at home makes life so much easier, even if it would be a pay cut

my wife will probably go back at some point, but I wish she wouldn't

Maybe. My wife still does a lot of house stuff though, so I may just be really spoiled.

I'm a teacher, and my wife is a doctor. You better believe if that was on the table my arse would be at home cooking and cleaning.

We kind of have the best of both worlds right now IMO. My wife works 3 nights a week, so usually at least three of the week days she is home and awake and able to do things that SAHMs do

Also, depending on the kids ages, you save money not having daycare.

BUT I also believe it would be an interesting experiment and I wonder if we would see positive outcomes from it, as I do strongly believe that children have better outcomes with 1 parent being at home

the pros may actually outweigh the cons here

The best experiment would be requirements that the payment is only available to one spouse in a marriage, random drug testing, restrictions for those with felonies, and the other spouse must be gainfully employed with only brief periods of unemployment between jobs.

How amazing would society be if we rewarded that kind of shite?
