Major flooding in Key West. Ian’s surge hit 2.16’ above MHHW at 9:36 p.m., 3rd highest water level on record, behind Wilma in 2005 (3.14’), and Irma in 2017 (2.66’). Records extend back to 1913 at the station. High tide is at 11:30 p.m., and the water is still rising.

Thanks Iona.

We are just praying Tinka will go out to drop those dinosaur piles. She likes rain, hates thunder, and doesn't know wind. We will get through.

For those who have recently moved here to the Sarasota Bradenton area, ABC action news in Tampa has a great weatherman. He’s the one we have always watched through hurricanes and he’s great. You can get their app and I’ve posted a link to his Facebook. His name is Denis Phillips.

From a Pro-Meteorologist regarding Tampa, just a few minutes ago...food for thought.

Tampa certainly doesn’t need to let their guard down, with the eye expanding a bit and a little less east component, it’s gonna be close. Have to start looking at hi-res models soon. They could still be in the eye if the eyewall structure remains large.

Long time listener, first time caller. I have family that are riding it out about 10 miles directly inland east of Venice. How worried should I be?
