Me too, that way I could have already gone back to work as I only felt bad for a day or two. Instead I have to wait for a negative test. And I have to avoid my kid because I don't want him to miss school waiting on a negative test.

I know of 100 families that do NOT have omicron.
So, what's your point?

A lot of recent cases aren’t bad, especially for the vaccinated.

The subsequent sinus infection that occurs on the tail end of it can be an absolute bitch if you are prone to sinus infections like I am. Weeks later and my ears still don’t drain right. Probably the worst sinus infection I have had in 3-4 years.

My nieces and nephews had something bad the day before they came. Right as they got here, my kids came down with it (got it from other friends)

Something’s going around for sure. I hope it’s Omicron so that way we can be done with the hoopla.

Wife and I have it now. It's somewhere between a cold and the flu. It has hit the wife harder than me. We are on day 4. I'm feeling better already. She is too.
Definitely screwed up our Christmas.
I say keep the mask mandate shut down, let this baby spread like wildfire, so we can get this phase over with.

And just think...all this could have been avoided if you hadn't gone and gotten tested.

How does anyone know it is Omicron? Unless they are sending to state for confirmation most have nothing to confirm it is Omicron. No hospital I am aware of is actually testing to confirm Omicron, they are simply testing to confirm it is Covid. Beyond confirming a patient has Covid virtually nobody is testing for the strand that I know of.

Who are the 80% of diagnosing medical personnel that are testing to confirm Omicron that you are aware of?

It doesn't require testing the strand of every person that contracts Covid or even a majority of them, they just have to sample a thousand or so from the region and extrapolate out the numbers.

Roughly 800 out of 1000 new cases tested in the region are showing to be Omicron, it's a pretty strong assumption that 80% of all new cases in the region tested are Omicron.

It doesn't take massive numbers of tests going to the state lab to determine the variant, just a select few

Combination of symptoms and process of elimination.

Vaccinated people are supposed to have less severe symptoms, but not with Omicron.
Monoclonal antibodies are supposed to make you feel better within 24/48 hours, but not with Omicron.
Covid is supposed to make breathing difficult, sick for days, high fever, possible pneumonia, but not with Omicron.

I know I have Omicron because of contract tracing and monitoring the 8 other people who have gotten covid same time and place as me. Some vaccinated, some not vaccinated. Some got monoclonal treatments, some didn't.
We all feel exactly the same regardless of vaccine status or treatments.

The oldest person (71) did had the hardest time of all of us, which was more of sore throat and a little more congestion than the rest of us, but none of us ever felt worried or "sick sick". Just mild cold.

I got sick with it on Monday. By Saturday (Christmas day) I was jogging like normal. Today I woke up feeling better than ever.

One of our employees notified us that her boyfriend tested positive. Both had mild cold-like symptoms and she was diagnosed with a cold.

The kicker in this case is that they were supposed to leave this week for Europe. She has been really excited about the trip.

If so, try to be distant until it passes. The virus itself isn’t too bad for most people now, especially if vaccinated.

Like I said earlier…a lot of folks get a sinus infection after a while.

I have yet to read that there is a difference in severity with Omricon.

Again, if related to Omricon, links to data if that is the case.

Also, the only thing I saw on the unvaccinated (w / prior Covid) was in Houston...and evidently (or so I was informed last night) was a total fabrication.
