I have no idea how people afford it multiple children. I’m single, no kids and 45 years old so odds are high that I will not. Part of the selling to myself that that is a good thing involved realizing another mouth to feed, clothe, medically healthy, educated, would break my budget bigly. I make decent money but definitely not baller status and likely never will.

I also get mad at my cat for attacking my blinds in the middle of the night waking me up. Children just aren’t for me, I guess.

Bless your heart. You are going through something very unique that nobody else has ever experienced before. So brave.

It passes. You have to be patient and "train" them slowly. Best job in the world.

As has been mentioned, heavy sleep suit

And talk to your doctor about intolerance to what you’re feeding, reflux, or colic. These can be fixed.

After you get past this comes ear infections stage and it’s the same thing all over.

Hang tuff dude. Someday all the sacrifice will pay off. My oldest (a daughter) was a sweet baby but a terror as a teenager. We managed to get her through college. Eventually got her BS in Nursing. She became one heck of a healthcare professional. Always intensely patient-focused. Incredibly compassionate on top of all that (okay cut me some slack, I'm a proud dad).

As part of her study, she was required to do clinical at an inner-city clinic. After seeing every STD you can imagine she came to me one day and said, "Daddy now I know the reason you were the way you were. OMG". She didn't elaborate but I knew what she meant.

So hang tuff.

Try a baby swing. I know the swings say the newborns are too small, but screw that. Jam some small pillows in there with the baby and turn it on

Ours slept in a rock n play for a few weeks and never had an issue sleeping.

Apparently it’s been recalled because babies died in them. Oops.

Been seeing numerous ads online for some type of swaddler called nestle bean or something. No idea why. Maybe it was so I could tell you about it.

Makes the baby think someone is always sitting with it touching their chest.

Rock him while you hold a blow drier on "low".

Babies loves the white noise of a blow drier. Noise machines are trash. Blow drier is better.

Mine had colic and reflux. This trick was magic. Worked like a charm.

Merlin sleep suits are good. Fill a latex glove with rice = constant dad hand on sleeping bebe.

Something i learned that ive passed on to everyone with newborns.

quote:

He sleeps most of the day. All we can do since he 4 weeks old. Nights he likes to cause absolute pandemonium.

Quit viewing a day as a One 24 hour period.

You need to adjust life to EIGHT 3 hour periods.

When you view it like that it makes it SO much easier. Ive got boy #3 due in March. So ill be living that life again soon.

Sounds like your kid has nights and days confused. The first 8 weeks or so sucked, but my daughter is 6 months old now and is pretty fun and chill. She sleeps 12 hours every night

Just wait until you've had a close bond with him and you start counting down the days until he leaves home and would give anything to stop the clock.

The last Christmas together, the senior year of HS, etc

Now I know why my parents always wanted to have a whole family vacation.

Definitely feel like I lived in a fog for 5 years. 3 kids pretty much back to back. When I came too, 5 years later, I realized the infant stage is for the birds. It was a fun ride though!!! Love them boogers. However I think I remember less from those years than the 5 years I was in college

Parents choose to let the kid sleep all day so they don’t bother them. Then they don’t wanna sleep at night. Gotta keep the kids up during the day if you ever want sleep.
