You have to call multiple dealers. Or deal with a different sales person. Don’t be afraid to say you don't want to deal with certain people anymore. I don’t even entertain their stupid sheets with itemized bullshite. Bottom line out the door conversation

This started because car buyers call 43 different dealerships trying to get a car below dealer cost. Dealers tack on these bullshite charges to make a profit on the sale rather than lose money.

You mean to get a fair deal? I call dealers who try a fair price based on a car on their lot until one calls me back and says they’ll do it. In and out.

Same think happened to me this week. They claimed it was on their website so I thought I missed it. He showed it to me on his computer. They took the items off but I still walked. When I got home I still couldn't find it on their website. I want a different car, I don't need one.

People don't want to hear that but it's true. Being debt free is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself.

The industry thought process is that dealerships will be gone in ten years... They will be showrooms and repair centers, but won't be selling you a car. You will buy direct from the manufacturer. Too many dealerships add ridiculous mark-ups that are hurting the manufacturers bottom line.

ten years? can we just start this now? id much prefer walking into a showroom, see what i like in person then ordering a more customized version direct.

Just curious, what type of car/vehicle are you shopping that has a net selling price of under $10k in 2024 ? Even the used car prices ive seen seem to start at almost double that price .

How many dealerships regularly sell cars at a loss?

Sounds like a car salesman angry because buyers aren't putting up with their BS. The dealership holds all the cards, and doesn't like it when customers try to protect themselves.

Last time I bought a vehicle, I played hard ball and agreed on a price after much back and forth with the salesman, and then the sales manager. It was a very good price. Then I have to sign some written offer sheet with them to get the sale process going. TWICE those assholes fudged the written offer sheet and explained it to me incorrectly on purpose and rushed me to sign it, when it would have had me buying the car for way more than we agreed to. On the second time I told them I’d walk, they’d lose their deal, I’d make a big fuss to the other people buying on the way out, and I’d lodge a complaint with the BBB. That lit a fire under their arse and they finally came out with the real paperwork. I want to name drop the dealership on Airline in BR, but I’ll hold my tongue for now. But they are all absolute scum

Just buy a Tesla
My car buying process:

- Go to Tesla website, click a few buttons, 5 minutes later car is purchased
- Go to Lightstream, spend 10 minutes applying for loan
- Get loan money from Lightstream the next day after applying
- Go pick up car

Easy peasy
