Everything is fine between them, my Dad goes to bed early & Mom has back problems

How big of a gal is your wife?

As mentioned in previous post. King bed for the win. Also if you are tossing and turning all night you might have sleep issues. No one wants to admit it but look into a sleep study. I hardly move when I sleep

Get a split queen or split king adjustable bed. You basically each have your own mattress and bed but they touch and you can still have'fun'. But that gap in the middle can get tricky to deal with at first.

AND NOW we understand why couples used to have 2 single beds in their bedroom back in the day.

I end up in the guest room a lot at some point during the night. Reason being is that I have two kids jumping into our bed and it’s cramped even with a king

We bought a Casper mattress about 8 months ago
Bought cheap bed springs, I didn’t want to use just the platform base
We love it & have no complaints

ETA
Watch their website, we got the mattress cover, sheets & a quilt free with ours

THIS. So much THIS. A California king is longer but narrower than a standard king.

Also seperate bedrooms are awesome.

Just get a king and do like I do, sleep with my own top sheet. My wife rolls up like a burrito in the covers.

Seriously, sleeping apart is going to have unintended consequences and you need to think about that.

Also, like the poster mentioned on the Casper mattress, I have a Tuft & Needle and it's the most comfortable mattress in the world. I can't feel it when she moves around and vice versa. Take moderate steps like these before you take a drastic one.

Some couples do fine with separate bedrooms but quite a lot do not. It could likely wedge an element of separation in your dynamic.

You need a bigger bed and a memory foam mattress. I'm gonna tell you right now, this is the downward slope of your marriage if you start sleeping in another room. Do what you can to at least stay in the same bed.

You may find that she may agree that both of you will get better sleep in separate beds. The idea can be to invite the other person in for a romp then go to separate rooms for sleep. Doesn’t sound too bad….

Does Jody have to pass the guest room when coming in the house or is the room on the other side of the house?

My wife and I have tried it. She also noticed that it is much better sleeping separately. Good luck with yours. Perhaps suggest a trial?
