I feel the same. Unfortunately, unless you married that one perfect unicorn, she ain’t gonna be happy. Best thing to do is discuss it with her BEFORE you tell her what you’re going to do.

Sounds like you need to invest in a new bed with a really good mattress. Those three issues you mentioned can be fixed.

When I wake up around 3:30am I usually start solving the world's problems and curing cancer in my head.

I go to the couch(which is quite comfortable) and able to fall back asleep.

I’d be extremely hurt if my husband didn’t want to share a bed with me.

None of your issues need to be in a different room. Why not get 2 new smaller beds? A full bed by yourself is plenty of room, hell you can do 2 twin beds and push them together to make a king.

As said two comforters, two sets of sheets. Go that route first.

Maybe she reads the OT and he’s trying to present the issue to her indirectly through the OT? The OT has saved marriages before.

Also, there are comforters you can get where one side is warmer than the other. Just had more filling. Since the wife and I got that, she doesn’t complain that it’s too cold and I don’t sweat.
