Harold is getting sheered pretty good by strong easterlies and moving fast.

But looking at the radar sig it wouldn’t surprise me if he wound up more before landfall. The gulf is record warm right now. But good news for S Texas at least on the drought relief.

I understand what you mean, but Insurance companies do not collect a deductible, they only pay your claim above the deductible amount.

A claim is a claim though, there is a reason why some people would not file a claim if the loss was right at the deductible amount.

If you would like to watch the storm roll ashore today... I recommend watching NASASpaceflight's 24/7 live cameras at SpaceX's Starship R&D facility in Boca Chica on YouTube

ETA: after looking at the radar... I wonder if Boca Chica is too far south

It’s ridiculous. Every clump of storms over water getting named.

They gotta keep up the “above average hurricane season due to climate change” narrative

Unless that "heat dome" (until this year, known as a high pressure system) parked over Texas/Northern Mexico moves, it's going to be like a fricking library for Louisiana.

Strengthening up to the end. Cloud tops blowing up near the center on IR and the core band is trying to close off on radar. Good thing it ran out of time.

They sort of do collect on it in the sense that it's less they have to payout.

Be interesting to see what happens to anything that sneaks into the gulf once this forcefield erodes
