How do we think the Cape Canaveral area will fair. I have a friend evacing that way from St. Peter tomorrow morning.
Will still get some weather off this but not like in St Pete. Maybe skip beachfront housing

I’m over here right now in that area (new to this area as of this summer). All my neighbors seem pretty nonchalant still this morning in the Viera neighborhoods. It’s definitely giving me some peace of mind, because evacuating to the north isn’t really much of an option after Helene…

At this point with the way traffic is and will be, especially headed north, I'd be headed south. The projected path helps with that decision, too.

Looks like the cold front is showing up on schedule so all the steering mechanisms should be in place. Makes me wonder if the models will start converging more on a particular area.
It may go south of Tampa. Good for Tampa (no surge), bad for Ft Myers.

This is what? The 4th major hurricane to hit that Tampa general area since 2022? And they hadn’t had one since 2004? Wild.

Ian, Idalia, Helene, and now Milton all impacted Tampa. When was the last time a hurricane impacted Tampa prior to those? They didn’t all hit Tampa dead on but they hit that general area. Go do some research and educate yourself instead of hitting me with a wut.
You really know your stuff man. Would be nice to have your knowledge in here more, keep it coming
