36' of storm surge is ridiculous!
I can't even imagine riding that out. You know some did that never lived to talk about it.

We are still holding on to power. Wind has started picking up. Are you south?

The wind is ridiculous right now. I'm surprised this trailer isn't leaking yet.

Energy spreading our some.
Means a wide swath of strong winds but lower maximum winds right at the center. As the center drives in closer to you, don't be surprised if you catch a few surprisingly intense gusts. She ate up some dry air, and that'll create some sporaric stronger gusts than you'd expect for the sustained winds.
Good luck tonight man. Stay safe our Orlando, Tampa, and anywhere in between posters.

Many schools are closing for tomorrow and Tuesday in Birmingham area.
Schools will do anything to close.
I'm sorry, but we aren't even forecast to get TS strength winds until later tomorrow and may get the worst overnight Monday into Tuesday.
Plus we are forecast to be on the better side of the center of circulation.
ETA: Tuscaloosa schools just added to closed for tomorrow list.

Where's the nearest place you could presumably reach for shelter? Jeff apparently saw a trailer community earlier and it was demolished, I wouldn't take any chances because she's weakening some. I'd get out of a trailer with any kind of trees nearby ASAP, even if you have to drive a mile and park under a sturdy awning or in a parking garage.

CNN reporting 3+ million without power in Florida.
My uncle and cousin in Ft. Myers area, where the eye went right over their house, still have their power on.
