Power flashes from transformers and power lines failing most likely. Really common during tornadoes during the day and night alike.

Assuming you're not a complete idiot and talking about lightning that is

My trailer is still safe but power is going in and out. It won't stay on for long though.

Do you mind telling me what major crossroads are near you? I am going to be up for a while. If you are close and get fricked by a tree I will come get you.

Except Spann keeps insisting Birmingham has nothing to worry about regarding tornadoes.

I can understand schools closing Monday as the weather will eventually get rowdy. But Tuesday should at most be a delayed start.

I thought I was going crazy when I saw them Ocean, good to know it's common. Or else maybe the aliens have finally decided to descend onto Florida and take us all back home.

Good man right here.

Like I said earlier, I'd do just about anything other than staying in a trailer with trees overhead and around even during 30-40 mph gusts. Odds are you'd be alright, but why even risk it?

Hard to say "nothing" but tropical tornados are typically weak and short lived. The east side of the storm is going to be a much greater focus for tornados as well. So yeah, probably way over cautious

Why is there not much of a threat south of the eye? Did it just dissipate?

There is a really crusty Dollar Ballet there. I have never been in but saw some of the dancers in the daylight one time. It was bad.
