Yeah, like I said, there are better plans, but this is the one settled on.

The place she is headed can operate completely off the grid and I have no questions about the structure or surrounding trees falling.

Northward just above I-12 , y’all think that will be far enough north from the storm surge or no?

Depends on how close to the Pear River (East, West or the big one)/Honey Island Swamp they are. Surge from the lake side will be a problem for low-lying south of I-10 and I-12... Water coming up various rivers and bayous will still be an issue north of the interstate.

recap after the storm from the Lafourche, Terrebone, and St Mary parish folks who ride this out.

We were out in the fields reparing pump stations within a week of both Lili and Rita in coastal St Mary and Iberia.

Fields stunk from tons of dead fish that had washed in from the surge. Coroner's staff was assisting mortuary workers sorting bones and trying to put them back in the graves in all the church yards along LA 83.

My favorites were the cow carcasses lodged 15ft up in several live oak trees like big Christmas ornaments.

Pretty sure we'll be back out there next week.

Over Cuba?

Odd. Now turning back towards the storm. They pulled that repeating circle which usually means they are cleaning up or trying to repair something, then headed out before turning around. Hopefully, they can finish the mission.

I'm in P'ville. I'm staying but I'm on the new hospital/school power grid on hwy 73 and I have a business across from Oak Grove that I can go to if need be, so I feel safe.

I feel so stupid booking something and evacing Nola now. Nola will barely feel it if it’s going over there.

This isn’t a great way of looking at things.

1. We’re still well within the margin of error for taking a direct hit.

2. Even if it follows that exact path we’ll still get a bunch of rain and some wind. I’d rather look back and say I wish I had stayed vs I wish I had left.

Will the water be messy/muddy in Destin? Thinking of heading over and making the best of it.

Do you have an old house?

Do you have young kids?

Do you have a job that requires wifi or cell service?

Do you live in an area that floods regularly?

If the answer to any of those questions is yes, I would consider leaving.

Do you have basic handyman skills beyond putting a new trashbag in the garbage container?

Saw cows in trees like that down 23 after katrina. Pretty sad. Poor cows.

I'd tell you to get hot but that's an inevitable conclusion.

Nice. My wife’s family has tons of camps on Graveyard Island. Hoping we skirt this one as well.

I would anticipate that dangerous rip currents and rough surf will be an issue, even that far east.
