You better have a big bankroll and big balls to play Martingale. It works until it doesn't.

I say this as a wife- do not tell her, at least not right now. Telling her presents her with a problem. Work out a solution, then tell her later if you want. Maybe that means giving up beer for a while, doing some home improvement or yard work yourself instead of hiring someone, etc.

My wife sure as shite would notice is 2500 went missing from our cash account.

If it was on CC through bovada or something, just pay it off and don't say anything.

I still wanna know what bets he laid.

Double up to catch up. Always works part of the theory of large numbers.

Ok. Here’s a serious answer with background, but a TL, DR version:
Tell her and pay it off. Sell some of your shite to show you’re serious. And stop gambling. Find a hobby other than sports.

Before I got married, I had booked two times. Once in college (selling blow and taking bets in college is literally printing money) and once out of college (down and out, DWI, needed some quick money...didn’t turn out well).
Anyway, wife knew this, but it was in the past. So, got married in 2017, broke, but we kept separate banking accounts. Success came in business, and I started gambling a bit last year. She sort of knew, but really had no idea.
Won a decent amount on football and soccer in Fall of 2018. Lost it back in Spring of 2019. Like $5k or so.
We have a kid in Oct of 2019, I tell her I’m done gambling, blah blah blah. Well, I wasn’t, and ended up losing $10k one weekend. I didn’t tell her, but I gave her my phone one night to pick out a dress I’d buy her, and go to sleep. I wake up, and she’s just staring at me. I’m like wtf???? She says, blah blah blah.
Long story short, I bought her a new car, and all is well. And I’ve stopped gambling.

So, my advice, fess up and take her on a vacation or spend some $$$$ on her and stop gambling. Or, if $2500 is a ton of money, sell some of your shite, show remorse, and stop gambling.

Be a man. If you can’t afford to gamble don’t gamble.

The mental gymnastics of sports betting (all gambling) drove me insane. Checking my phone tirelessly, betting on games from 11 til 1am, and the forever roller coaster of money swings.

That juice is the action.

Yep. And that's why you quit until you get a grip. Being on tilt is no way to make sound capping decisions. Step back take a breath and go in with a mental balance of $0. You will never win with a mental balance on you.

Dude, the under was like printing money.

The O/U was 51.5 and rose to 54.5. The score was 51. There was no safe bet here.

SF was a score away from pushing to the over. KC missed a makeable FG that would have put it at 54.

Gambling is just that.

Always one more bet to win it back! I mean, you're due to win, right?

She should have known already. The fact she doesn't should answer your question for you. You've chosen to hide the extent of your bets. That should highlight your personal problem.

When folks ask me if they have a problem with alcohol, one of the first questions I ask is "Do you try to hide how much you are drinking from folks who you care about?" If you are trying to hide it, the answer should be obvious.

Yes you should tell her. She is going to find out one way or another. You've lost control of gambling. Don't lose control of your integrity. Come clean. Then get help.

it time for one big bet to get myself out?

Based on your current predicament and apparent losing history, I don’t think this is the correct path.

Go to casino and get the amount that you lost on red. 48% you break even then.
