Adding another reply. I've loved all 3 of my kids since before they were born but this season at LSU Florida my 7 year old screams "single high safety, take a shot!". He got so many high fives and compliments. That shite was so worth it.

It's the only thing 'worth it' I've ever done. But everyone is different. I have multiple degrees, started businesses, broken 80, bought homes, traveled and experienced much I'm grateful for. I'd trade everything in for my kids. Something extremey rewarding and purpose giving that you can't really explain.
To answer some of the obvious questions:

1. Why did you look past this and give him a chance? The story sounded strange, obviously, but the work isn't hard and we needed to fill the role. I figured what's the harm in giving a shot, and I'll cut bait quick. It was absolutely dumb, no doubt. This was only a few weeks ago and the story has continued to grow in ridiculousness and I'm now into the cut bait phase.

2. How can you be this dumb and run a business? I ask myself that question everyday. We'll see how long it goes! Just made 5 years. Honestly these situations make it less and less worth it.

Thanks y'all, I needed that. The comedy and the stern straight forward get it together. I'm doing it today.

Love the OT.

Hiring Stress at New Business

Posted by Tigerbiscuits on 11/18/25 at 8:11 am
Morning OT. This post is half seeking advice and half venting/therapeutic.

I'm a small business owner who recently opened a 3rd location. Our first 2 locations staff's were filled out with majority friends and friends of friends. The 3rd location has been filled with majority random people via word of mouth.

The Gen Z crew I've hired fits every stereo type of the generation but I'm willing to look past it for the ones who try. Their issues are mostly minor and easy to shrug off.

The bigger issue and source of my posting has been one older gentleman in particular. This guy walked in off the street one day and had a story just like the rest, except his made little sense. He claims to be a doctor that's in med school to gain qualification to teach medicine and that the school is requiring him to get a public facing job to improve his soft skills. I made the mistake of ignoring this obvious red flag and decided to give him a chance.

As time passes his story and commitment to the bit has deepened to a point of extreme concern. He's texted tirades about losing children in the OR, about being late due to waiting for patients to wake up and more. He also claims to be a Marine and an NOPD vet. Based on amateur sleuth research I'm 99% certain he's not a doctor and I also question the veracity of anything else he's told me.

Yes the easy answer is to just fire the guy, but I'm concerned at how he will handle it. He's apparently mentally unwell and I'd like to mitigate the chances of any volatile reaction.

What would the OT do? Most amicable way to fire? I'm headed to the store to work with him this morning and will share more details as I can.

Great point Run. These pumpers still assume victories over Arkansas and Oklahoma in their fantasies. In their world all we hafta do is beat Aggie and Bama. In reality we're staring at 4 more losses. Hell, IF BK can manage to only lose to ATM and Bama the rest of the way, I'll give him some rope. That would at least show a little resolve.

This is the next version of the same "what if" crap you types keep coming up with. You're here, asking once again that everyone ignore what they see and imagine a future that LSU is victorious in any competitive match up? We all told you this was coming since Florida. It's not like it took a football expert to see where this season was heading then and it's even more clear now. Unless there's a cam Newton Joe burrow type transfer coming over there's no success in LSUs near future. That's the obvious truth and everyone's welcome to grieve their own way.
Not saying I agree with OP, but it's as simple as this. When you haven't won, the crowds are better. LSU was better pre 2003. Saints was better 2005-2010.

I agree, it is a small sample size. Vegas and I also agree, LSU has a good chance at competing for a championship. If LSU is to WIN the championship, history suggests the offense will be in the top 50. I can't predict the future, my personal opinion is that the offense will continue to improve and end up similar to last season which would qualify for a championship. I'll revisit this at the end of October and we can see if you, Vegas and I are on track to be right together.
Regression to the mean will certainly unfold as competition balances.

Looking into this, I found the Simple Rating System "SRS" on sports-reference: a rating that takes into account average point differential and strength of schedule. The rating is denominated in points above/below average, where zero is average.

ATM, Miami, LSU, Houston and Ole Miss are your top 5. Here's a LINK

I share in the concerns of LSU's offensive woes to date, but digging into the available data suggests stiff competition and greener pastures ahead. With the fact that no one can predict the future, I'll focus on these points to remain positive and steadfast in my support. Hoping for some fireworks on Saturday night.
It definitely should. LSU has scored the season high to date against Florida and La Tech. Depending on your opinion on the overturned TD, LSU has also 'scored' the season high vs. Clemson. That is a positive trend that can continue with 25+ points scored Saturday vs SELA.
For discussion. Apologies for format. Major take away, LSU should look to get to at least the top 50 of total offense and top 20 of scoring offense if championship is the goal.

I want him to say:

"Look, that's an elite front we faced. And we came out the other side. We'll get to work and continue to improve. I think they guys did well, particularly late when it was time to salt the game, but there's room to improve. We know we need to convert a few more 3rd downs to give the defense some time but we're happy we're where we're at today and know we'll keep getting better."
You are.. Just curious, how much are you paid? $5, $10? BOGO cane's?
Let the downvotes rain. It's clear Brian Kelly has paid posters on this site to suck him off. He's a clown and that was a clown reaction to a legit question. I'm disappointed in all of the support he's getting here. Shameful.
Unreal all the bootlicking in here. Never seen a coach given such a pass that Kelly is getting from all the posters in here. The offense has been objectively terrible. Cauble asked a straight forward question everyone wants to know. Thank God he didn't cower and doubled down on 3rd down specifically. Les Miles won a championship and his offense was constantly bashed on this forum. It was warranted because it was terrible too. Now everyone's hard legging for this clown? You've all gotten soft. Or are paid bots on Kelly's never ending staff.
Was he? He said we ran the ball well. That's the most alarming. All you need is a garbage time run? No ball control? No keeping the defense honest to open up the pass?
I'm not making any excuses for anyone. I'm concerned the world is lost. The kid was obviously deranged and deserves the worst. The concern is that it's an epidemic. Impressionable people being molded by curated hate. Just look at all the psychos on Twitter celebrating. Yea, it's great to see them get fired or whatever but it's a little scary there's that many people out there so detached. How does good win?
I don't think Tyler knows what he is. There are generations of chronically online people who's brains have been turned to mush. Communicating in senseless memes, connecting with digital communities, completely unable to exist in the real world due to paralyzing angst from over stimulation and algorithms praying on their curiosity, desire to fit in and be validated. The trophies on the mantle of the digital prophet. The internet is bigger than Jesus or John Lennon.
"Apple's first iPhone was announced by Steve Jobs on January 9, 2007, and it was released on June 29, 2007."

mark of the beast.
I do this every weekend with my kids. Traffic is better since majority of people have arrived. If you know where to look there's parking available but easier bet is to get a parking pass.
Women hate being sexualized but LOVE watching tv, movies and reading books about being sexualized. It's the darndest thing.
0-6 months: Awe this is the most innocent and precious child. He/She naps every 1.5 hours and sleeps 4 hours twice each night. Life is bliss.

6-12 months: Awe this little baby has so much personality. Maybe they're starting to walk. Sleeping through the night and even saying Dada Mama.

12-24 months: This baby might be the GOAT at everything. Grandma says so, did you see them walk? They even threw a ball! They're so sweet and helpful too. How could anyone not enjoy this?

24-36 months: Oh this is my wild child, they sure are spicy. So much personality. It's ok if they say NO, they're just testing boundaries. They're going to be future leaders!

36-60 months: PLEASE GOD SOMEONE HELP ME WITH THIS SPAWN OF SATAN. WHY DOES IT ALWAYS SCREAM? WHY IS IT SO DIRTY?

Then you're pretty good for a few years until the first wave of 'independence' attitude sets in.

Good luck buddy!!
