When you know your neighbor is home, grab a few beers and a lawnchair and go sit right by the fence and drink beer. Don't acknowledge the barking dog in any way. Don't look at it, yell at it, talk to it, feed it treats, nothing. Just sit there and let it bark at you until the neighbor comes get it.

Repeat.

Dogs bark at the mailman, and UPS man and others because they think it works. They bark, the person comes to the door. They bark louder, the person goes away. In their dumb arse doggy brain, their barking was the reason they went away.

Same deal with you in your back yard. You go away, dog thinks it's barking is why.

Have tried this before.... would let it bark its arse off and stood there poker faced until it got tired and walk away..... Lost count of how many times I did that, but as I said the dog's radius of shite he's territorial over has only gotten wider

Yes and they are worthless...they only exist to give the busy body house wives something to do... they schedule food trucks and remind people that it's flag day.... that's it. There was an a-hole that would reev his engine at 5 am and they didn't do shite

We bought one of these for our neighbor's dog that bark incessantly. It seems to work.

Ill send you my 65 year old dad's cell number, I don't want to give you his solution online. I think his solutions are illegal in most states now days.

roll some peanut butter balls in powdered sugar and give it to him when he barks

it solves 2 problems, he cant bark for a good 15 minutes with it stuck to the roof of his mouth

and he stops barking at you because he remembers you give him treats and are his friend

With the neighbor in his yard. Pet the dog a bunch, make him your friend. Then pet him everytime you see him out. He will stop barking at you.

If that fails, because your neighbor is a dick and won't drink beer with you and allow you to befriend his dog, then resort to secret cruel solutions.

Spend some time talking to your neighbor with the dog around. Have some dog treats. Don't pay it any attention at first other than asking your neighbor to get it to behave. Once it does, give it a treat. You have to establish yourself as higher in the pecking order than it and reward and reinforce good behavior.

Or you could just spray it with a water hose through the fence when it starts that shite under the guise of watering your lawn.

Sort of have this same issue with the neighbors behind me. We share backyard fence line. They leave the dog outside all day and it barks non stop because it wants inside. Sort of mean and cruel honestly (i'll let you guess the demographic).

Anyway, our master bedroom is near the back fence line and that fricking dog barks all night. So, we call non emergency to let them deal with it. Non emergency shows up, knocks on door, no one answers door, they leave.

Ended up talking to sherrif's office on the matter and they basically said there is nothing they can do. Even HOA says theres nothing they can do.

No point in going over there and talking to them because.. well.. i'll let you guess the demographic.

I've had this problem at the 3 places I've lived over the years. The only solution is to move to land where there are no neighbors within a half mile or so because it seems EVERYONE has dogs that bark and they just don't give a shite.

The only thing I've ever had kinda work was to fire up my dirt bike every time the dog started barking. Dog going to disturb the peace and the owner doesn't care? Well I'm going to disturb the peace too...

You won’t get any good solutions. Only option is speaking to the neighbor

It works longer if it’s soaked in antifreeze

Have you tried talking to your neighbor? Is the neighbor even aware? That seems like the best place to start. Had the same issue, went over and knocked on the door, and the neighbor was apologetic. He managed the situation with his dog and all was good. Don't poison the FFS.
