My Android has been out of service for hours. I can text android on wifi, wife's iPhone can receive my text, but I cant recieve hers, both on wifi

Reminds me of this past summer. My son got home from hanging out at casino beach, couldn't find his wallet. We hauled arse back to the boat ramp under 210 bridge (45miles). It was after dark already; with a flashlight we found his wallet in 3 foot of water next to the ramp. It was one of those metal clip wallets. Had $500 cash, his id, his twic card, company American express card and other credit cards in it. He was frkn happy about that recovery.

No way I would drive through a 70 mile tunnel. If you are not claustrophobic when you start, you will be by the end of it.

Good info, thanks. I agree with your last statement, which is why I have no plan to stop carrying my garmin in reach. What is interesting to me is that i read an article saying satellite apps on smart phones where just as accurate, maybe more accurate that handheld GPS units like Garmin. I have used both for tracking a route on the deer lease, and I agree my Galaxy phone plots a truer line than my Garmin does.
I just looked it up, satellite messaging is available on iPhone 15 or newer, it is free for the first two years you have the phone. Samsung Galaxy s25 also has satellite messaging, which is free if you have Verizon, it does not say it is limited to 2 years.

I have the inreach mini. I pay $13 per month. Pre typed text messages are free. I have a few that basically say "all good, running late" etc. Have sent these from offshore, and from the deer lease that has no cell signal. Does wonders for the worrisome wife. Also use the app on my phone to quickly type out text messages, and sends your gps coordinates to someone with each text, In case you need help, but don't need 911 services. I also taught my kid how to use the SOS button, incase something happens to me. Push it twice and help is coming, anywhere on the globe.

I saw a 22ish year old male patient, very athletic build, came in for xray for rib injury in "military training". When i asked what happened, he said "well really i was drinkin and playing football with my boys and got tackled hard in the yard, I'm ok but i'm tryin to pad my file with injuries 'cause it counts toward my disability percentage when I get out".... so I did xrays ,to prove no fractures, and I quoted everything he said in the chart. Probably won't matter but it made me feel better about it.

Must be a Diesel, preferably a dually with 8ft bed. I towed a 39ft fifth wheel for 8 years with a 2500 diesel, because it's what I had.
shite, I can't get the spypoint camera in my backyard to reliably send me pictures, and it's 50 yards from my back door, with 5g signal. The tactacams i have at my deer lease are great. I'll never buy another spypoint. I only keep the one in my yard for the 100 free pics per month, and I get hogs that tear up my yard. It will send a picture of me mowing 3 days after it took pictures.
