We have folks come over from time to time but I ain't entertaining them. Its bad enough that we feed the frickers, now we are supposed to sing and dance for them????
Who has time? And when did people get to the point where they had to drink to excess anytime there were more than 4 non family members together? We used to do Sunday dinners when we lived near or on military bases.....everyone would bring something, usually themed like Italian Sunday or something, and we would try to get unaccompanied enlisted personnel and officers to at least come eat even if they didn't bring something or did not have time to socialize. It was a lot of fun. We would drink some but it wasn't about drinking, it was just about a bunch of Americans living abroad getting together and eating and socializing a little. We live in a military community now and when we first moved back to the area we started up Sunday dinner....had the active duty people who lived in our neighborhood invite those who lived on base. It wasn't nearly the same......LOT of drinking. Lots of it. I am not a prude but I swear 30 and 40 somethings, at least associated with the base close to us, are like we were in high school....I am talking black out drunk on a Sunday afternoon with their kids in tow. I have no idea why it was different but we stopped doing it. We still try to get as many enlisted folks on base to come eat holiday meals with us but very few do so....we have met some incredible people doing it but its usually only a couple to 3 or 4 who show up and they are very uncomfortable initially. I would like to do it more regular but to get any sort of numbers would require involving the neighbors who are still active duty and that was eventually going to be a problem.....

We have people over probably half a dozen times a year. Crawfish boil, Memorial Day, 4th of July, couple of Tiger games, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

damn that sounds horrible
3-4 times a year maybe for crawfish or during holidays. I refuse to watch LSU games with a crowd so that eliminates a lot of the BS.

We do bigger crowds a few times a year, but just cooking and having people come over to watch sports? All the time. I am including my grown children on the visitors list.

Not as often as I would like because my wifes sees the condition of our house as a reflection of her, but not me. So, asking people over puts her out big time.

we usually have one set of parents come over every other week and every 4-6 weeks we have them over at the same time. I see my parents daily because they pick up our daughter from school and I get her since it is on my way home. We also host Thanksgiving lunch and Christmas day lunch at our house. As far as non-related people go, maybe 2-3x a year.

I was having buddies over damn near every weekend for college football last year. It was always my place we were doing it and I just got tired of hosting. I get other people have families, but having to host every weekend was tiresome.

A LOT.
Every holiday, LSU away game, most weekends in the summer.

Never. Unless my mother and/or my M-I-L counts for the odd holiday or b'day cookout.

Not often. The reason is because people these days, for the most part, are selfish and toxic. I'm happier with just my wife and two kids than entertaining a bunch of people.

I have gangbangs quite often. Is this the answer you're looking for. Is it the reason the word entertain is in quotation marks? If you're looking to get into this, I can make it happen. Just turn your pineapple upside down.

We have people over often. It’s mostly either eat out or pot luck, then stop by our place for cards or Rubicube or similar. May go for a ride on the lake as well. It’s really informal but we do get together regularly.
In our defense, our former residence was rather depressing and we didn’t ever entertain there. And we lived there for decades. So we have some catching up to do.

Almost never.
We’re not recluses though. We are involved in church, members of the country club, go to the ball games at our daughter’s school, and go out to eat at the popular restaurants a couple times a month. So we do have social interactions. We just keep the home life private for the most part.

Every night.
My kids think I'm hilarious.

Never, I want zero visitors.
They might mess up the throw pillows.
Or the dog will get them a "help me" note.

Nymeria passed away in May. Thanks for the concern.

Does talking to myself count?

During the summer, as often as possible. That’s the best part about having a pool. Having people over to drink and good off is so much fun.
Any other time of year? Hell no

My wife's friends all have kids up to age 7, so my form of entertainment is more or less throwing kids across the living room and beating their arse in Mario Kart
