How much would you give to your niece’s family for a vacation?

Here’s the background.
Wife’s (no pics) niece (no pics) and her husband and 3 kids are going to Disney World for a vacation in January. Niece is staying at home mom and she and her husband are upper 20s. All 3 kids are Disney age. We are very close to this niece and her family. Niece’s husband has a good job for someone in their 20’s.
Wife informs me tonight she wants to pay for part of the vacation.
In case you haven’t heard, Disney is not cheap. I’m not a fan of big gifts, but if the vacation is $10K-ish, what would you be comfortable giving?

Absolutely none. If they need money to go on vacation, they don't need to be going on vacation.

I have a young niece who lives nearby. I get the close relationship, and if she had multiple children and they were a young struggling couple, I might throw them a couple of thou.
Of course, this is assuming there's not a history of them constantly needing money from you or others.
Being nice to a nice family? Yes.
Enabling a family living beyond their means? No.

More importantly, what watch are you wearing when you make the gift?
Most importantly, is there a tip involved?
WTF has happened to this forum?
Give what y'all want to give. My opinion is irrelevant to this insane bunch of bullshite.
Holy fricking shite!!!!

Not your vacation.
Zero
I don’t care how close they are.
Maybe if if was Really trying to be a nice guy offer them one dinner on you? That might keep your ole lady happy. Even that is a stretch.

Condition your contribution on your wife going with them and then enjoy a week of golf, steak, bourbon, and sitting on the deck in silence.

I brought my kids to Disney only once when they were older and I could afford it. Disney is not some right of passage for a child. It’s a luxury not a necessity.

Maybe I have early onset dementia, but I swear there was a thread with almost the same exact situation not too long ago
