I don't know here is a novel idea. If companies provided raises that lined up with inflation and cost of living people wouldn't need snap. but I know that's communism or something right.

If every company automatically raises wages with inflation, where does the additional money come from? Higher prices? Fewer employees? Less hiring?
Are all SNAP recipients even working full time for companies capable of doing this? (lulz)
And if wages rising with inflation helps fuel more inflation, have we solved anything?
Disagreeing with an entitlement program isn’t the same as blaming everyone who uses it.
People in this thread aren’t complaining because the genuinely needy receive help. They’re complaining because they get up every morning, work a full-time job, pay their taxes, handle their responsibilities, then repeatedly stand in a grocery store checkout line and watch blatant SNAP/EBT abuse being funded with their money.

If snap didnt exist as a crutch, people would quit their low paying jobs and find other ones. They would be incentivized to take more ownership of their lives and make better decisions, forcing companies to pay them more. SNAP forces people to accept a low class life, hurts the economy because a significant portion the "money" they spend goes to corporations like frito-lay and walmart. I could go on down the line of negative reactions from subsidizing up to 30% of citizens, but there is no need, just go look around the bad part of any city. Show me the number of low-income people that died of starvation in 2025 compared to the ones that died from obesity related ailments. Everything the government touches turns to waste, we don't need to live like this anymore.

Good challenge! Problem needs to be solved.
The racist lens part…it’s usually not too many layers into this discussion (eg, “messican” framing by OP). I look at this abuse as a tax on racists. It’s God’s way of punishing hate. The hate that lives no matter the topic…if it was not SNAP/EBT abuse, it would be something else. R word…expensive.
To the non racists who also challenge this abuse and good point, collateral damage. Life ain’t fair.
That said, needs to be solved. It is Wasteful, abusive and infuriating.

I bet less than 10% of people on SNAP actually NEED snap to feed their families. As long as the government keeps the program alive and turns a blind eye to the abuse, a certain segment of society that has absolutely no qualms about abusing tax payer funds will continue to abuse it and divert their income elsewhere. When is the last time you saw someone check out with a SNAP/EBT card that wasn't at least 75 pounds overweight and had the newest iphone in their hand?
It's not that these people can't afford to buy groceries. It's that if the tax payers are going to buy their groceries for them they are more than happy to accept the grift and spend their money on non-essentials.

The system is designed to keep people poor and dependent. They vote for whom they think will give them the most free shite. People on public assistance of any kind should not be able to vote themselves raises.
