How much better would the South be had Andrew Johnson not sabotaged Reconstruction?

Say if he followed through on any of Lincoln's racial reforms, and not let the KKK and their allies take over the south.
What would it look like today?
Would Louisiana be a better place?

Culturally, the North is far more racist than the South
Certainly, historically, the offenses were more blatant in the South, but its changed; the North has not

I don’t think whitey is the problem. Which is what you’re saying.

Johnson had little say in the matter. The Radical Republicans held a veto proof majority after the 1866 midterm election. They implemented a harsh reconstruction regime but without the manpower, wherewithal and eventually the will to enforce it. By 1876 the north had tired of military occupation and the often violent backlash against it and abandoned the south to Jim Crow for the next 80 years.
Lincoln would have had the moral authority to implement his vision of a lenient reconstruction. Johnson did not.

Someone / a historian made the comment that Lincoln's death was the one that affected the South the most

I’ve always believed that whe JFK was killed, that’s when the shift started and we went from“What can you do for your country” to what can my country give me. It stated slow but that’s were the dependence started. Then the traitors like Fonda were allowed to push their anti govt agendas and we just started sinking lower and lower. It’s Always been the radical left. But even the radical left of that time look like nuns compared to today’s version.

Had Sherman just not burned down so many towns in the south, there would be some amazingly beautiful capitols in the south.
The south was extremely rich in the past with all the cotton being sold in the world and other agricultural products

Something I just learned the other day is that after the March to the Sea and then his move into South Carolina, Sherman issued an order that the sea islands from south of Charleston to the Georgia/Florida border, and 30 miles inland, were to be cleared of white inhabitants and given to freed slaves.
Johnson overturned that order as soon as he became President.

They were no different. The ideas are the same.
That was the beginning and it’s been a slow burn until it reached critical mass under that dick-breathed, angry ****, Obama.

Labor and benefits are among the highest opex line items in most businesses. Free labor would be awesome!
Enslaving humans and sometimes brutally / breaking up families for free labor…not good look for those slaves owners while at Sunday school or Vacation Bible School, no?
Those preachers to the slave owners, in their congregations, must have had at least some mixed feelings? Was always curious about that.
Wonder if they (slave owners, their clergy or Sherman) made it to heaven? After all, it’s eternity - beautiful state capitols aside.

Wait… so you know what happened when America sent the former slaves to Liberia… right? The former slaves turned slave owner and enslaved the local population and formed American named cities with antebellum style plantation homes…
And you think it would have been smart to move the actual plantation owners to Africa?!

You are now free! Here is no money, land (40 acres and mule yielded sharecropping and tenant farming)formal education, few legal protections, and many families frequently been separated through sale. Not to mention violence and intimidation and legal discrimination.
Set up for success? Gonna go with work in progress on that!
This part of American history is not proudest. Paying for it to this day. Nothing’s free.

Lincoln's assassination was probably the worst thing that could have happened to the post-war South.
I would characterize the end of Reconstruction in the South in 1876 a bit differently, more as a bargain to throw the disputed election to Hayes (R) in return for pulling the Federal troops out of the South, which led to the Jim Crow era.
