Watch: Jeff Landry Warns Greg Sankey, SEC Over Continued Threats Against LSU

Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry continued to defend LSU on Thursday during an appearance on Fox News, where he took aim at SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey and the conference over their ongoing battle with the Tigers.

Landry warned that it would be "extremely dangerous for Greg Sankey" and the SEC to continue threatening LSU, while questioning the conference's First Amendment argument in its federal lawsuit against the school.

"LSU did not create the litigation in Louisiana. LSU did not create the litigation in Alabama. The SEC did," Landry said. "The SEC tries to villainize LSU."

Landry also pointed out that 15 SEC schools are public universities while discussing the conference's claim that it has a First Amendment freedom-of-association right to enforce its rules and determine its membership.

The comments come after the SEC escalated its dispute with LSU earlier this week by amending its federal complaint and raising the possibility of removing LSU from the conference.

I support Landry’s message. I hear everyone saying he should keep his mouth closed but our top officials sticking up for the tigers is a good thing. Same for Rousse. SEC is trying to bully LSU so our leaders having our back is crucial.
