How many had the pleasure of "pulling cards" at each department or was it the field house?? I had to do that before Reggie. I sat on the Assembly Center floor (extra/unwanted cards were returned there) for hours waiting for a speech 2060 card to be turned back in so I could snag it. I got the damn card though

The awesome part of this system was that it took days to register. THus, you would get super drunk with new money that week.

That was one of the best weeks of the year.

In fact I didn't have an email address until my second year at LSU.

I was in Library School when Reggie was on the scene, but I DID have to go to the Field House to pull cards or pay fee bill or somesuch. I faintly remember using PAWS, I think. With so few in my school, and being at graduate level, I don't recall having much trouble at all with any of the three systems. Started in 1995, finished in 1999.

Oh man. I still remember fall of 99 being the most hung over I'd ever been laying in my dorm on the phone for 2.5 hours and getting in before my roommate who had been prepping his mechanical engineering classes for days.

Yep, constantly calling to be just in time to register for all classes before they were full. If you were 5 minutes late, you were screwed.

Owlie had the pleasure of registering with the state as a sex offender, does that count? He even got to invite all his immediate neighbors.

Me. And that was high tech. We had to do walk through registration when I was there.

Anybody else remember pulling cards or just showing up to the class you wanted and trying to get the professor to add you?

ETA: I see lots of people remember pulling cards.

Prior to that we were standing in line for class cards in the field house

My first year was the last of that. I swear Ikea took a page out of LSU's book when it came to funneling people thru a maze.

My first year was at Nicholls state and you did it all on a computer but it was a closed in house system. Don't think it had a name.

02' LSU had PAWS

Tulane we use wave mail and splash cards

"Please enter your campus code..."

"Enter 1 for fall, 2 for spring...."

"Please enter your request. Enter 1 to add, 2 to drop, or 9 to end this call..."

Used Reggie for finals grades. After finals I'd be at the hunting camp or fishing camp with no internet. So I'd have to call in to check. Luckily got to schedule with paws

The field house maze was always fun...in August, so packed full of dumbfrick freshmen and reeking of unwashed arse and alcohol sweat.

Then Reggie came on the scene my second year, dialing, dialing, dialing then holding your breath for those magic words "...has been added to your schedule"

Made you just bust a nut in real time.

My 1st registration was walk through in the field house it was a giant cf. you kids wouldn't have survived. You actually had to converse with people irl and those people weren't the cream of the crop either.
