Me and the ol lady are doing a whirlwind tour for about two weeks here in a couple of months. Rest assured that I’ll be showing her the old haunts.

4Runner. Use it all the time to run things out to the hunting properties when the truck is hooked up to the trailer and I don’t want to go through the hassle of unhooking it.

5-10 times a year depending on tide and slimy boat launches. Plus a few at the deer camp depending on what’s going on

I use it every time it rains. It’s not just about getting stuck in the mud. The 4xHigh is great. But I hunt, so yeah I use the other one too

I use mine every time there's a North Texas Icepocaylpse or when I haul my travel trailer out onto loose beach sand....which is a few times a year.

I don't use my chainsaw when a knife will do. But when I need a chainsaw, it's nice to have.

I saved $4k by not buying 4x4 option because I never would use it.

I drive a 4Runner and mostly use the 4x4 during rain while traveling long trips. Here in NOLA you actually need a 4x4 with all the street damage. So lucky to have it last February during the snow storm and everything buried for a week. I thought I was deep in the Pennsylvania mountains with all the snow we had.

I have the 4 auto feature, and use it at the duck camp for gravel roads when they are slick and for driving in the snow. Do this many people really use it for the rain too, on normal
Streets? I guess it’s not a huge deal cus it only engages when needed. But that is baffling to me

Use mine probably 20 times a year hunting. Put it in 4 auto if the roads are slick and I need to turn onto a road at a stop sign with oncoming traffic.

Live in Alabama, use auto when it rains because of the hills. Use it every week in the spring/summer because I fish about 3-4 times a week and the launch I use would not work with a 2wd. I also use it every time I go hunting because I have to drive a several mile long muddy dirt road to get to my land. I also have aggressive all terrain tires but I need them.

I never used 4 low much except for maneuvering cow trailers around in the rain and stuff like that.

First hunting trip to Colorado I understood what that is really for. Dragging a loaded trailer uphill in the snow with chains on, you basically have to have it.

Eta: I use it all the time now, mainly because I dont have to worry about forgetting I have it in 4 wheel drive before I get back on the road. When you need that shite you REALLY need it though.

How often have you had to put it in 4x4 over the last year?

Every truck I have ever owned was 4x4. It's damn nice to drive a vehicle and have the confidence to know beyond any doubt that it will take me anywhere I need to go without any issues.

Do I go off-roading? Occasionally for camping, dirt biking, work, ...
But I use 4-wheel drive on a regular basis for parking at LSU games.
The places that I park in for games are always open because a standard vehicle cant access them.

I have a 22 year old LX470 and it has been in 4x4 100% of the time.

I use it at the boat ramp. Otherwise I ride around in 'AUTO' which switches between 2wd and 4wd for me.

Once or twice a month, for work. I have to do site evals for future construction sites. A lot of those are inaccessible by anything not 4WD.

A few years ago I had a 2WD Tundra that I loved. Got stuck twice in 1 week.
I may get stuck again but it won't be in a 2WD. I also put it in 4 Auto in heavy rain on the highway. The traction control works better when you hydroplane.

I use mine about once a week for about 10 minutes if that. Its a pickup. It will get stuck on wet grass in 2 WD. I have a log trailer that I tend to back into bad places and load with 4-5000 pounds of logs. If it was just hunting and fishing I would need it about once every 5 years and I would find a work around then. Very few people need it....I can usually do what I do with mine by slightly engaging the brake pedal while accelerating and engaging both rear wheels....when its in 4 wd and I don't have the locker engaged its really only 2 wd anyway but its the front and rear wheel so it makes a difference. When the locker is engage though it makes a helluva difference....
