Chipping/ Putting Green in backyard
Posted by DanielBooned on 4/2/24 at 9:35 am
I have an acre lot with the house on top of a hill sloping down towards the bottom of the lot. How difficult/ expensive would it be to put in a 200-300 sqft green at the bottom? I would use turf for the green itself. Is this something I could do myself? ...
re: Boiling Shrimp
Posted by DanielBooned on 3/5/24 at 5:12 pm
This makes sense and I understand this method and the stake kraka method. But when I do a crawfish boil, I like to throw shrimp and some king crab in there too. Is there realistically no perfect way to do all three? Usually I just throw the crab and shrimp in when I cut the fire and they turn out mo...

Headed to a bachelor party next week in south Florida. We will be peacock bass fishing one day and iguana hunting the other. Anyone ever been out this way and have bar/ food/ other recs? I’ve never been to this part of Florida before. From what I’ve heard; west Palm in particular is very hit or miss...
re: How was your duck season? West Zone is closed
Posted by DanielBooned on 1/23/24 at 3:06 pm
We are in same area and that’s exactly how our season has gone, until Sunday. We have been beating their asses. Never seen ducks land on ice/ fry fields in ark before. 6-8 man limits every day. Very few big ducks, but spoonie and teal smack down.
Coming down tonight and hoping they don’t change ...
re: Who’s got some dealership service stories?
Posted by DanielBooned on 1/17/24 at 3:42 pm
I had a flat tire. Had the tire replaced. The next day, my ABS and advancetrac warning lit up.
Had to wait two weeks to drop off at the dealership. Then, they had to hold the vehicle for a week just to examine it. Week goes by, they think they figured out what it was. I come in to grab it, drive...
Steering Wheel Locked 16 F 150
Posted by DanielBooned on 1/15/24 at 4:35 pm
I drive thru some fairly deep ice/ water yesterday. It was very cold. Then hunter. Afterwards, I heard some loud grinding and wheels seemed slow to respond. Drove 3 hours home. Went thru car wash, it snowed over night and is still very cold (single digits).
Are my wheels/ bearings just frozen? O...

Smoked Hog; I will be hunting in this area from Thursday to Monday am. I need to get back to middle Tenn on Monday for a work thing on Tuesday. Struggling to find accurate weather reports. Do you think that will be possible? My buddy also neeeds to get back to Little Rock airport that day. We have d...
re: Dead Tail in Labrador
Posted by DanielBooned on 1/8/24 at 3:04 pm
Thanks; this is good info. Seems like it is not the cold or any one thing, it just happens. Going to rest him this week and give the vet approved pain reliever.
Would you hunt them if he still showing signs or no? I figure he’ll most likely be good by Friday or Saturday regardless. But with my lu...
Dead Tail in Labrador
Posted by DanielBooned on 1/8/24 at 11:03 am
I hunted my lab in NE Arkansas this weekend; then drove back home to Tennessee. After I unloaded and got on the couch, I noticed him whimpering and his tail in a limp position. He was very uncomfortable.
I’ve done some Google research, and heard of this before. But has anyone else ever experienc...
re: Need some advice on training my lab
Posted by DanielBooned on 12/14/23 at 12:15 pm
Ain’t nothing wrong with that, hunted over some damn fine dogs trained that way. One thing I’ve learned getting into this hobby is never critique another man’s dog, always undersell your own dog, and every single dog is slightly different.
I think the collar is beneficial if used right and certa...
re: Need some advice on training my lab

I don’t believe in the collar. I trained mine to the whistle. Used the “Wildrose Way”. Just remember to master every single step
Of the process before moving on, slow is fast and fast is slow.
Also, one thing you may want to try is alternating where you train. It can be a pain especially if you...
F-150 Cooling Fan Issue
Posted by DanielBooned on 12/12/23 at 3:12 pm
I’ve got a 16 5.0 f150. My engine cooling fan kicked on loudly over the weekend, and is running the whole time, either parked or driving. It’s cold, and AC is off. I flushed coolant and added new coolant and that didn’t fix issue. I’m certain it’s not the actual engine over heating and just a sensor...
Fascinating Duck Study on Pressure
Posted by DanielBooned on 12/7/23 at 5:06 pm
I thought this was very well done and informative. I have my own suspicions for why the hunting has gotten worse, but I think this data from a very sharp biologist was insightful.

Barbour with liner if weather is foul and very cold. Just Barbour if slightly cold and wet. Peter milar puffy if dry and cold.

re: Goose guide recommendations Stuttgart area
Posted by DanielBooned on 12/7/23 at 1:48 pm
I would stay away from stutgartt area and go to NE Arkansas instead. It’s less hunted and cheaper. Limit is 3 specks a day. Blackwater outfitters will put you on em. ...

As others have said, we do steak rather well here. I would stay away from jimmy Kelly’s and E3, along with StK.
My top steak houses:
Halls- best food, good vibe.
Bourbon steak- great food and best view
Bobs- best actual steak
Kanye Prime- the sides and apps are the star of the show
Sperr...

Thanks!...
