re: Tell me about life on the bayou

I used to spend my summers on the bayou in port sulphur. We had a camp and my grandparents would basically move to the camp in April and stay until October. It did have electricity but was only accessible by boat. We caught rain water in a cistern for showers, washing dishes, and hand washing clothes. It was a village of many camps. Some of the native tribe lived on the water fully time and there was a school hiuse and a crew boat/ school bus boat if you will that ran as a school bus during the school year. I’d go to the camp for a month or two at a time. Daily fishing off the dock, running crab and min is traps around the camp, trawling daily during shrimp season. We’d make dried shrimp by the buckets. It was some of the best times of my life.
Not too sure if subsidies would help. Just a single unit in a refinery cost billions and many years from design, manufacturing, and building. In those years the next administration enters the white house usually with a push for green energy, mpg mandates, etc. While oil and gas goes into everything I do t think companies are willing to invest tens of billions when the intention is to phase out oil and gas eventually

I have spoken to the engineer, he has been out twice and sent email with picture and marked trees to me removed and trimmed. I have also spoken to his supervisor who claims the same thing. I am responsible for getting power from the last pole on the street to my property, this includes trees in neighboring front yard.

It is in right of way with other utilities. Yes entergy can do it even if she refuses. However since I’m the customer wanting power all cost go to me.

Entergy says it’s cheaper for me to speak with the neighbor and hope to get permission to trim or remove. If entergy does it the cost will be significantly higher. It is on a right of way/ servitude. They can deal with tree if she doesn’t allow me access.

Entergy new service

Currently developing some property to build on. It’s at the end of a street. The power stops at the last house on the street. I bought the acreage at the dead end. I have cleared a road going in and a pad for a house. I have cleared the 30 foot right of way Entergy’s requires. The issue is the last power pole is in the front yard of the last home on the street. It has one tall pine tree that’s being required to be trimmed or removed. Entergy is saying it’s on me and I’m responsible to remove the tree or trim it. This tree is not on my property or even remotely close to a property line. It’s in the neighbors front yard. I haven’t spoken to the neighbor yet. I feel if it’s Entergy’s right of way they should speak to her and tell her they need to trim it. What’s your thoughts?
I use a 3 way swivel and a lead duck decoy weight. When stored and not using the decoy weight can be compressed around the noodle. Works well for me
I have a 12k gallon pool. Really no maintenance at all. I have the uv light set up and chlorinator. During cooler months I put on chlorine tablet in the tube and it’s set on 1. During hot months I put 2 tablets. Dolphin vac cleaner when needed. Backwash and add chlorine usually on a Monday. That’s it. Maybe 5 minutes of my time. Never had any issues with water.

Went to the Margo yesterday. Wind was horrible and it appeared nobody was catching from what I saw. Water was low as well. Gave specs a couple hours with no luck. Ended up saving the day with some bass.
