Getting this thread back on track, I am only a few episodes in, but:

I don't understand the uproar about lack of Halo CE online multiplayer. It's not like that really took off until H2 anyways. Would be cool to have, but if they do a Halo 2 Evolved and it has it, which I would guess is the plan, then that's better than a half baked CE multiplayer.

Only have LASO left to tackle....

There were a handful of DEI complaints from the first one, but I enjoyed it. As someone who wore out VHS tapes of Batman TAS, I've been digging this.

D'Arbonne was a fun little mixup, and not a bad round at all...but it's under the quality of all other courses mentioned so far. I took about 5 minutes a hole to find a spot in the tee box that wasn't too hard to take a tee....

Haven't played Black Bear this season so can't speak to it, but it's consistently good every time I've played. Frenchmans was in the worst part of Ouachita parish that had the ice storm back in late January, so it took a little longer to find it's footing, but player there a couple weeks ago and it was solid.

The entire Jordan documentary was created out of insecurity by MJ because of lebrons tun. The irony here is palpable

So he went back in time and filmed it?

Or, hear me out, like every famous person since media became so accessible, MJ and LBJ have been followed and filmed incessantly. The poster is stating the the documentary was put together and released to overshadow Lebron's prime because the narrative was gaining momentum that there could actually be someone better at basketball. But you already knew that and were just being dense because it involves LBJ. The LBJ derangement syndrome knows no bounds.

Chef Woo was my staple for a while. Will probably pick it back up for quick lunches after it cools down a bit outside.

Echoing what's already been said - Frenchmans or Black Bear (Delhi) is going to be best bet without knowing a member. Slim pickins around here...

Chennault also exists if you just want a cheap-ish round.

Cape Fear was a let down for me, and I will ride it out just to say I did, but not really running to finish it.

Severance and Widows Bay are two of the best shows I've ever seen. WB is obviously early in its run, but if they keep it up....

Even though I have game pass, I went ahead and bought it to get early access. The franchise has brought me so much enjoyment, it felt right supporting it and hoping that this inevitably leads to the same treatment for 2 and 3.

Haven't gotten to the DEI moment(s) in the game yet, but even in the first two levels, there were a couple quirks in the dialogue and storyline that I missed, but am ultimately ok about. Main one being the line "I...don't keep it loaded" when MC first gets the pistol. That's more on me playing it a million times and knowing the cadence by heart than it will be affecting the average player and hopefully new audience.

TL;DR - the course ate me up

To preface, I am very new-ish to the game, only been playing a couple years and not an every weekend warrior. Mostly playing when the buds can get together. This was the toughest course I've played for sure. Probably saw more undulation on the front nine than all the other rounds I've every played combined haha. The other big factor to me, having normally played on lower rate courses (Frenchmans Bend/Chennault) is the hill factor. Even when I hit a fairway, my feet were flat on a shot less than 5% of the rounds.

Either way - appreciate you iwyLSUiwy for the tip sheet. Course is beautiful and will definitely be going back.

Necrobump but did a search for a post about these guys after reading the Greta Van Fleet thread...new album is heavy in my rotation right now. Not sure they will pop mainstream but I much prefer this kind of nostalgic alt rock sound over GVF, all due respect. Highly recommend checking them out to folks.

It's a must play. Halo is on the Mount Rushmore of video game franchises, and for me personally, it's at the top of the hill. I remember the first time I found out about it, i was on a band trip (nerd) in jr high and we stopped at the Pierre Bossier to eat lunch. After we got kicked out of the bookstore for peeping at the adult magazines, we went to Game Stop and they had a standalone kiosk with a screen and controller to play the Halo level on a demo disc. Everyone, including the employees, were wrapped around the kiosk raving about it and wanting a turn. I was instantly hooked and, especially in 2001, it was ground breaking. Had never seen a video game like it. Hours, days, weeks, months of my life have been playing all things Halo related and I am super pumped about this. I am also excited that a new generation gets exposed to the story without the weight of the (now) dated graphics. I wish I could play it for the first time again...
"Yes they deserved to die and I hope they burn in hell"
Honestly a little shocked at how wide the spectrum of reception is....I thought the movie was amazing and while I do expect some general discourse and nitpicking....I simply don't understand some of the takes here. I agree the first 10 minutes or so took a moment to get its footing, specifically with me and my buddies chuckling that Travis Scott himself was the first face we see. But even with that, EPage, and the face that launched a thousand Nissan Altimas....it felt nearly perfect for me. Paced well, each scene and storyline had purpose and meaning...idk. Whatever. I enjoyed it: 9/10
