By the looks of all your threads you are a socially unaware dumbass. Therefore, if you've noticed this I'm sure you're boss has known for a year or so this dude's not up to snuff.

Truth be told this is probably the case. Old dude has learned through experence it’s best to take the time to do a job right. OP just wants to blast his way through and get done as quick as possible even if what he ends up with is pure dog shite.
Maybe instead of trying to get the old dude fired, OP should stop being a dick and take time to learn a thing or two from someone who’s far more experienced than himself.

You get the boss and the "old" guy in the room with you and tell the boss the old dude is too slow and you think he should be fired.
And if he's not fired, you quit.
If you don't do it that way, you're a pussy.

Have any of you that see him as a problem addressed him directly? I know that's a novel thought vs. you natural reaction to go snitch, but at least give the guy a shot. As a boss, you come to me snitching and you're the one getting reprimanded.

Rather not confront him. I want him gone but I dont want him to know I want him gone.

your boss already knows, trust me, as a manager I know who is and who isn't performing in my group.......

Kids don’t do that sort of thing anymore. Think it’s one of those “triggers” that seem to bother them so much.

Usually when you tell the boss, he starts watching you more closely.

I think one of the most important lessons professionally is to restrict yourself to your professional responsibilities.
Once you begin to worry about what your peers are doing you'll find yourself getting further and further sidetracked by issues that make your life more difficult or distract you from doing the best job you can do at work.

Old guys in the office suck. Everyone shows up to the meeting with their laptops except for the old guy who shows up with 100 pieces of paper printed out.
When you ask someone a question, they quickly look up the answer except the old guy who has to fumble to find the right manila folder then fumble through 30 pages reading each one before finding what he's looking for.
I stopped inviting the old guy to meetings because it's quicker just to do something on our own.
Unfortunately the 3% raises have added up over the years and the old guy is the highest paid guy in the group.
I'm going to fire the old guy Friday.
