How do you hint to your boss that the older dude isnt efficient?

We have an older guy (55+) in our team who takes 5x longer than anyone else to complete a task. I know the office is aware, but nobody is willing to tell the boss. How can we hint that we need some turnover?

Well he is becoming a bottle neck. Guy has his portion but never done on time which shifts out project schedule.

You should start by challenging your boss about how out of touch he is with the work that his team is doing. Soon you will be enjoying the new metrics a reporting that will be sure to follow.

The old guy's work is probably way more detailed and better than the rest. Can't rush perfection.
