Goodness I wish that all I had to worry about at night was whether Ihop used pre-mixed batter.

pancakes taste just like my homemade pancakes I make at home and I always use the add water mixes.

Why would you do this?

Plot twist. They're really frozen microwave pancakes.

Entirely possible.

What does OP expect, restaurants to grind their own flour?

I’d like to think that if people knew what many restaurants served and how it was prepped they would eat out less.

But then I look at how fat and lazy many people are and how nasty their own houses are and realize they probably wouldn’t even care as long as it’s not obvious what the deal is when they’re eating.

Sam’s sells restaurant sized boxes of Bisquick. No big secret there.
last I checked, bisquick isn’t water only, except maybe quick dropped biscuits but not for pancakes

You pay for the convenience. Always better to cook at home. Of course the younger generation thinks it’s their birthright to be serviced.

Agree. Typical mentality these work from home people have

You're really kind of a half-wit. I mean, right up there with Sun God and a few others..

So you've got that going for you.

“Buccees brisket is pre made and shipped then warmed up and served “

I suspected that,I rode around a Buccees looking for a barbecue smoke stack.Never found one nor did I smell any barbecue going on.

Nevertheless,it’s damned good,IMO

Almost all the food you eat out is coming from Sysco or US Foods

Places like IHOP and Denny’s have worse pancakes than the store-bought mixes. They’re way more dense and not as good.

Secondly, have you ever made homemade pancakes from scratch before? It tastes just like the store-bought mixes. So it’s totally plausible you ate scratch-made pancakes that taste like the box mixes but were not a box mix.

Most restaurant food is premade these days in one way or another.

I learned from Reddit that The Cheesecake Factory actually makes their food from scratch. Except the cheesecakes.

Just a FYI, probably almost 90% of all restaurants use a pancake or waffle mix and doctor it up a little

Depending on what they’re cooked on, don’t underestimate the value of having the same thing you cook at home cooked on a pan or cook top that has tens of thousands of pancakes under its belt.

It makes a difference.
