How do we know restaurants serving pancakes are not using store bought add water mixes?

I just had pancakes at a fairly popular restaurant in my area and their pancakes taste just like my homemade pancakes I make at home and I always use the add water mixes.
I feel duped b/c I thought restaurants would come up with their own special recipe. Not take someone elses that most of us already use at home and serve it right back to us.

These are the questions in life that truly deserve answers...

Most restaurants (especially breakfast ones) are serving pre-made or reheated junk.

Are you bitching because they taste bad?

You pay for the convenience. Always better to cook at home.
Of course the younger generation thinks it’s their birthright to be serviced.

Haha. Most restaurant food is premade these days in one way or another.

Here are the top two reasons why most restaurant foods just “taste better” than what I could cook at home-
1. Wayyyy more butter than one would normally use,
2. Wayyyy more sugar than one would normally use.

Plot twist. They're really frozen microwave pancakes.

Pretty sure Waffle Houses mix you have to add milk and egg. I know their hash browns are dehydrated in cartons.

There are also pancakes made with cornmeal mixed with flour. There are also much loved buckwheat pancakes in part of the midwest.
Run of the mill pancakes are flour, water/milk/, baking powder, fat, and pinches of salt and sugar. There isn't much you could do to that plain pancake. Put blueberries in it, maybe some crushed pecans, a few slices of banana, but it really isn't open to too much creativity.

Pancakes aren’t exactly complicated. How much difference do you expect there to be?

As long as it tastes great who cares? Sometimes not knowing is a blessing. Example, my grandmothers pecan pie was to die for and the absolute best per my dad. When she died, acted like it was lost in time like who built the pyramids. I called my aunt and she told me to guy buy a bottle of Karo syrup and make that recipe. I did and gave it to my dad telling me that my aunt still
Had the recipe. He couldn’t believe it and was so happy.
