Did she bring the puppy along too?

i have wanted a doberman for a very long time but just wasnt in right place and time to have one until recently after moving back to louisiana.

i wanted to rescue so it took a few years of seeing animals up for availability before i saw the particular one i have now. that was year and half ago.

i didnt get a response immediately from them so pulled out my trump card one my application follow up. worked. Glad i did, hes best dog ive ever had.

The dachshund from a breeder my wife is friends with on Facebook.

The basset hound was being rehomed on Facebook, and I'm a sucker for basset hounds. She's prescribed Xanax for storm anxiety. Yes, literally.

The corgi mutt was being given away on Facebook because its whore mom was knocked up by the corgi that roamed the neighborhood. Probably one of the best dogs I've had.

Found mine at a gas station

Was in late December, middle of nowhere 3am. I was getting gas at a self pump, felt something at my foot and it was a cold but happy puppy who was malnourished and looking for help.

I brought him home and miss him to this day

The shelter. But for a specific dog I looked for training and sport clubs and went from there. AKC means nothing but purebred, doesn’t mean squat about health, disposition, etc. Depending on the breed, look for someone who works and titles (or hunted, whatever) their dogs, and breeds for their skill, health, disposition and longevity. Ask to see hip and elbow X-rays of the parents and grandparents. A good breeds will match a pup to your needs, not give you carte blanche or place you in line according to your deposit.

She was rescued by TDCline from a ditch in Ville Platte.

Makes me wonder how Stella, Pudge, Twix and any other survivors are doing.

I searched local rescues, watched craigslist and facebook, etc. Best dog I've ever owned.

Found him on Petfinder. My border collie female had to be put down in 2015 at 14. A year later, though not really looking to replace her, stumbled upon a 9 mos. old purebred border collie that was being rescued from a kill shelter in the mountains of Virginia. We snapped him up and 6 yrs later have the best boy.

Sounds like a rhetorical question from Ray Lewis.

I found mine on craigslist for $1 in college. In reality, he was free, but I don't think you could list pets for free on the site then. We picked him up at a truck stop in Brookwood AL from a couple of methheads in a beaten-up van. Was and will be the best dog that I've ever had. He was a Chabrador, Chow/Lab mix.

Daughter in law’s mother noticed her hanging around her rural property. She’d probably been on her own awhile, based on how skittish she was. She had heart worms, as well as a few other issues. She is a beautiful Great Pyrenees and as sweet as can be. Still shy, but a wonderful dog.

Maggie May

Maggie came home from the groomer’s yesterday struggling to walk, barely able to use her hind legs, collapsing from exertion every few steps. After x-rays and and exam today, she seems to have damaged a disc. The x-ray also showed that she’d been shot with a pellet gun, although not recently. I guess her life before we got her was even rougher than we thought. Sweet Maggie!

My 13 year old chocolate lab was from searching breeders online. Needed an October birth that Santa could deliver on Christmas to my boys. Have a mutt we adopted killing time between games at a soccer tournament at a Petco north of Atlanta. No intent to get another dog at the time but had a moment of weakness. Wound up with an Aussie a few years ago that some guy in Nashville got from a Nebraska breeder and then decided he couldn't handle it when he lost his job. Our friends had gotten one from the same breeder and recommended us to take her and she has been the smartest dog we've ever had.
