Houston Downtown is the baby made between a giant LLC and concrete.
In spirit, presentation and board voting.
I used to work in that white bldg in 1st pic. 1600 Smith St. My soul died no less than 3 times there.

Nah man, this is 100% on the Houston board. These Pakistani guys can't do shite unless the board approves it.
I hope people show up for local elections.

Another reason Houston is an unsightly shithole

I don’t get a bee in my bonnet when it comes to preservation efforts, but this was a colossal failure by the city of Houston not to own and preserve this place

Those fricks don’t give AF about preserving anything in the US.
They will probably celebrate knowing they dropped a historic US building.
Reminds me of an instance where that happens. Those two just did it legally this time instead of using planes

The opportunity for Black Lives Matter to buy it, and turn it into a memorial, and pay for the maintenance and upkeep was there.

Can't believe Texans are letting these dirty bastards ruin their state.

Can’t bitch too much if it’s been vacant for a while. People had ample opportunity to buy it or get it designated as a historical site. If a couple of hajis eventually got to it, that’s the way it goes.

Why would they demolish this?

It is sad how little preservation is valued here, and I’ve lived here a long time. Doesn’t need to be full on NIMBYism or anything but it would be nice to keep some history around from the area
It's impossible when one half of the political aisle worships anything non-white and foreign and the other half would toss your grandma under the bus for a few extra GDP points.

What is it with Indians and gas stations? Are they all raised over there to come over here and run them? Is there some gas station school there?
Sadly it is here in Texas. It is called The University of Texas.

There will no longer be a slurpee desert in this area.
