That would be General James Leonidas Polk atop Pine Mountain GA in the Civil War. The "Fighting Bishop" from Louisiana lost his life when he was cut in half by yankee cannon fire from a great distance while surveying the flanks from the mountain top with his officers.

“Get our popcorn ready” - Lane

Loses 42-21 and down 28-0.

“I’m not going to be the Alabama coach” - Nick

Costs LSU 2 NCs and brings a decade + of pain.

Leonidas Polk

Widely regarded as one of the worst generals on either side. Episcopal Bishop of Louisiana who was awarded his generalship solely on the basis of his personal friendship with Jefferson Davis.

"If you really want to see something that's sad..."

-DJT right before they missed their shot by a millimeter.

Still can't believe that glorious orange bastard bobbed and weaved out of that one. Or God simply turned his head slightly. Can you imagine Biden, Obama, Kamala and company watching that from the war room realizing their stooge got off 10 shots. And still missed. Lolololol We'd be living in a different world. Too bad every election every 4 years for the next forever will be just as critical to our nations survival.

Eh, Shakespeare is literary history. Repeat it enough it becomes true-ish.

Negative.

Polk, Hardee, and Johnston were reconning a position when they came under Union artillery fire - directed by Sherman.

The previous two rounds that missed the group proved they had the range.

Hardee and Johnston had the good sense to haul arse.

Polk stood on dignity and insisted on walking. He knew the Union cannoneers had the distance.
