Most of the naysayers just knew it would fail during Mardi Gras. Only person I know that flew in and out said it went real smooth.

I flew in and out last week. 30 minutes tops each time to get to and from gate to car. Was great.

Most people are being dropped off on the third floor vehicle access ramp, where you find check in. Baggage is on the first floor, where lo and behold you find passenger pick up.

I saw the ticket counter when I first walked in.

My only issue was the whole check in and security being 2 different floors. I thought overall it was nice.

I fly in and out every week. Love the airport and amenities. Picked up a coworker over MG and it was a breeze.

Flew out Endymion Saturday and it was a disaster. Southwest lines were long as hell as they only had a couple people working the counters. Of course only 2 out of 4 suitcases made it on my plane, the baggage belt was not even moving. They were stacking luggage all over.

Flew to DC and in to Reagan which that airport felt like a dump. Felt like the old MSY was better than DCA.

Yea it was strange to walk from parking and then have to go up regrew stories to check in. It’s easily a top 5 worst airport for one that is this new as far as design.

Have you ever been to the Kansas City airport?

Can someone explain to me why it makes any difference if the escalator is before or after security? You're gonna have to go up it at some point.

People like to bitch. I didn't notice any of this nonsense that people are complaining about in this thread. The new MSY is probably the nicest airport I've flown out of/into, and I travel quite a bit.

Kansas City has the worst airport I've flown into by far.

It's a hell of a lot nicer and easier to get into and through security than the old MSY, so GFY

Rental car area somewhere in the airport? Nope, it’s a 20 minute shuttle ride to the back of the airport?

PHX is like this and it's annoying AF.

SFO is probably the worst laid out airport I've ever been to, but even they aren't dumb enough to put the check in area on the second or third floor.

With BR traffic, MSY is closer to Prairieville than BR airport

But you check in then go down the escalator.

It's 3 stories:
3rd - passenger drop off, check in
2nd - security, gates
1st - baggage claim, passenger pick up

I'm not saying it's a big deal or anything. It in no way ruined my experience or made me think the airport sucked. I would just think you could find a way to merge the 2nd and 3rd floors. I'm sure it was a space thing though.

At least passenger drop off and the ticket counter are the same floor. DFW is annoying af to get dropped off then find a non existent escalator or wait for one of two elevators just so you can go up one floor to check in. I loved being dropped off right in front of the bag drop outside.

Ugh, most airports have departures and check-in on at least the 2nd floor. Arrivals and baggage are usually on the first or lower floor.

Sadly that's most airports nowadays. Atlanta is horrible. I missed a flight because of it and had to standby for the next one.

Flew out for Christmas and it was painless other than the tsa lines and getting shaken down for my yeti of boudin and crawfish.

Louisiana doesn’t have time for logical thinking regarding the proper use of tax dollars.

Just flew back from KC and I'll agree but looks like they are building some new stuff. Not sure what they are doing though.
