She is huge.. the TS wind field appears bigger than the state of Georgia.. and I expect her to get even bigger once she gets clear of the Yucatan and Cuba..

What is the church/disaster response group called? I work in north Pensacola.

I’m not sure. The church is near somewhere between Cantonment and Milano.
They’ve got their own mobile sleeping quarters and several bobcats as well as a big crew

The major problem with this storm surge projection is that the water has nowhere to go this time. Typically in non-corner landfalls the water can disperse east or west but here its all corralled up in the worst possible pocket of the gulf. It is going to take a while for it to subside with those strong East-Southeast wind patterns.

New HWRF shows 123 knots (140 mph) and 918 MB just before landfall.

New HMON shows 116 knots (130 mph) just before landfall.

Both stronger than previous run.

ETA - HAFS-A and HAFS-B are 137 knots and 135 knots. Cat 4 or borderline Cat 4 for all four models.

Oh boy.

Hope everyone stays safe and the storm weakens before landfall.

I dont know who that group is but the Church of the Highlands will be responding. They were in Madison last year with us. Pretty impressive what they have. Multiple skid steers with knuckles and 20 or so saw runners. Many are loggers or retired Asplundh workers. I think they even have a crane that bring to remove trees off of houses.

We are not affiliated with them but they do a good job and its for free.

We have a camper that sleeps up to 6, but we usually just bring 4-5 people. That way Steve can sleep up front by himself since he snores like a chainsaw.

We have a 30' mobile kitchen, a 24' supply trailer plus the camper.

We bring everything we need to serve 1200 or so free meals a day.

Lunches are usually hamburgers, tacos or wraps and hoagies. Evening meals are usually pulled pork, hamburger steak with gravy, smoked chicken, chicken pot pies. Plus sides.

We have a red beans and rice recipe (from the food\drink board) we make anywhere not in Louisiana ..We figure yall can make a better one than us anyway.

Odds that she will still be a hurricane when she passes near Auburn, AL? We are supposed to drive down from NE AL tomorrow evening to spend the weekend with our kids. Starting to rethink this plan.

When the models are all projecting RI.. that's not good, not good at all.. so far, this bitch reminds me of a different bitch in so many ways.. let's hope that trend doesn't continue..
