Dustin has a well known substance problem and it is sad seeing him losing control of himself like that

This is why I have a strict no fighting policy because Id see this loud mouth and think “he must be compensating for not being able to fight” and then promptly get tied into a bloody pretzel.

You are trained to try to de-escalate. Normally the first officer on the scene to someone that is intoxicated or not thinking rationally is the bad guy and the the subject/suspect will listen to any other officer, but the initial contact.
They handled that well. I am to old to fight and would have done what initial contact did.

Cop did an awesome job. Kept his distance, deescalated, spoke calmly. Good work from him
