If you think poirier walks around at 135 you would be in for a rude awakening
And yes. He is a killer. He went toe to toe with gaethje. You woulda looked like the guy he fought

Yeah. Its not a good look for him. He needs to find an outlet since he's retired from fighting.

That's my problem with some of the cops shootings sometimes, they just default to shooting because they felt threatened.
to be fair poirier was at a gate in an airport with nobody around other than the cop and the two ladies. he also knew poirier had been thru security and wasnt carrying a weapon. thats not something cops ordinarily know when in these types of situations.

That's fair. But as a UFC fighter, he is the weapon. Lol

Roid rage, perhaps. He's talked about taking them wanting to bulk up after no longer being in the testing pool for anti-doping with the UFC. Said he’s trying to find his natural walking weight. Never been able to for 20+ yrs always being ready to cut for fight weight. That said, I think he’s been a good husband and father from what I’ve seen.
Let me preface with saying I've always liked Poirier, but this incident have definitely changed my opinion of him. Having an incident like that in public on a Sunday afternoon on Father's Day makes me very skeptical of what he is like in the privacy of his own home.

yeah man. anyone that has grew up in a home with an alcoholic has seen that type of behavior and what it can potentially lead to.
he does an in studio show with paramount that comes out on Tuesday so I assume that's the reason he was on the road.

I know you’re trolling but he’s probably 5’9 185-190 when he’s not cutting for a fight.

how would you handle that situation if you are the cop?
The cop handled it well ultimately, but he would have also been justified to tase the frick out of him as well.
If someone is belligerent and openly threatening you physically, while also continuously approaching you, you have every right to defend yourself IMO. And that's not even considering that this dude is basically a trained machine that could very easily hurt (or even kill) you.
I'm glad it was resolved without violence, but that could've very easily escalated and turned out much worse for everyone involved.
Once you threaten violence and advance on a cop, you open yourself up to that cop defending himself.

these MMA guys come from a very difficult, often traumatic lives.
I used to come roll over at Tim Credeur's school in Lafayette back in the day when I would come that way for work. Tim was coming over to train a lot at the school I started out at in Houston, Travis Tooke's. He gave us all a standing invite to come over if we came to LA. I remember Dustin as a teenager. Yes, he had a traumatic upbringing.
