I was looking to buy a watch for $289. So I leave to pick up dinner and got back and it went up to $420.00. I was so pissed. I ended up not buying it.

Amazon isn't nearly as good when it was under Jeff Bezos. Back then they had something to prove. Now they're on top and slack. Bezos ran it much better than whoever is running it now.

Their shipping runs behind half the time.

Add it to your cart and watch it for a few days. Guarantee it goes back down.

I live somewhat close to a distribution center and get anything I order either the same day or the next morning.

So it works for me

There are a couple of sites like camelcamelcamel that you can check price history on things. I've not seen a jump like that before on anything, but there are definitely times where there ahve been some decent swings.

Yes.

If you save for later, it updates you on price changes.

Add a day to whatever timeframe the shipping promises. That's how it's been for us for a couple years now.

Their customer service sucks now, too. You used to be able to pick up the phone and get a human being at Amazon, and they usually worked with you on issues.

Now all they have is an AI with pre-set categories and answers you can’t get around. I can’t even find a way to call them on their app anymore.

Nope, still never bought anything from them

As to Amazon Prime and the movie side of their business the prices, interruptions, and annoying sells have escalated greatly in the past few years.

I need another external SSD drive and they've tripled in price over the last year due to AI centers buying up all the worlds supply of memory.

As someone else posted CamelCamelCamel is your friend.
If an Amazon product isn't near its low price over the last 6 months just wait and it will drop

Gotta learn to price track on Amazon or you'll get screwed.

I found a Citizen watch I liked on Amazon, first time I looked it up it was $350(for real).
Next day I decided to order it,was $400 so I didn’t.
I would look it up everyday and the price stayed $400 for a week or so.
Then one day it was back at $350,quickly ordered it.
Next day the price was back up to $400.

I’ve seen them do that with other items.

There is an Amazon distribution center less than 10 miles from me and even the 1 day orders are usually 2 days. The 2 day Prime deliveries are usually 3 days. Go figure!

The coffee I always order used to be $10-12/bag, then it went up to $20. I put it in my 'Save For Later' and set a price alert. Last week, it was on sale and had a coupon, so I ordered up.

I shopped for a computer the same way- they'll drop the price, then raise it for a week or 2 just to put it 'on sale' again at the lower price.

It's just a new game on Amazon.
