It’s more prevalent in nola than other places, but you haven’t traveled the US much if you think nola is in anyway unique in this regard.

I’ve always thought it was a way to determine if you’re a local or a carpetbagger.

During my time at LSU, it was a way for NO people to identify themselves. I noticed it’s a much bigger part of one’s identity over there than where I came from.

If I had to guess, I’d say it’s because of the nature of the school system and the prominence of private schools.

New Orleans is unique in many ways, that’s another one to add to the list IMO. Within my first few days at LSU, I found out who went to Jesuit, who went to Rummel, Shaw, Holy Cross, Brother Martin, etc. I still remember who went where.

I’m not saying it’s good or bad. I don’t have much pride in my HS because it sucks at so many things. I actually think that a strong connection to your former students would be a good thing.

I live in a good neighborhood I reckon

FTR I don’t hate Nola at all

And BR ain’t good

You just crack me up because you are the only poster on this board that lives in BR that shits on it and valiantly defends Nola

It's the most ridiculous thing I have ever experienced in my life.

If somebody from NOLA ever asks me where I went to high school, I will answer : Fort Bragg US Army Special Operations Command is where I went to high school. Where did YOU go to high school?

In college I interviewed with Motiva back in 2002 and all of the questions were about high school. So strange. Most people aren’t the same after college as they were in high school.
