This is where the line should be drawn. No one wants to see people feet. Man or women.

There should seriously be a country club-style dress code on airplanes.

flip flops

Walking through security (assume you don't have precheck since you are wearing flip flops) with your bare feet is fricking disgusting

I live in South Lousiana. I wear pants like 10 days out of the year outside of work.
Why the frick would I wear pants when it's 100 degrees outside, and i'm likely going to connect in Houston where i'm going to have to sit on a plane for 30+ minutes with an A/C system that does absolutely nothign while the plane isn't moving? and then i'm goign to have to walk outside on that concrete that feels like the surface of the sun when i get off/on that connecting flight?

I don't think i've ever been cold on a plane in my life.

and at no point in my adult life have i given a shite what another person thinks about what i'm wearing.
If pants are comfortable for you, good for you. But i'm not wearing pants on a plane. Doesn't matter if i'm going skiing in colorado, i'd still wear shorts to the airport, and a jacket.

I don’t have a problem with shorts on a plane but I just flew international and saw some people in flip flops. To each his own but I wouldn’t do it.

Silly person. I am a 75 yr old man and have no issues with wearing shorts to fly in summer. The idea is be comfortable when you fly.

Grown Men Wearing Shorts At The Airport

What the frick? Are you saying I can't wear shorts when I fly? What kind of new homo rule is this?

Is it just a rule for men? If not, how do we know which women have hairy legs.

BTW, I have seen, in the past several years, a good majority of women wearing leggings for flying attire. I personally kinda like it, but if men can't wear shorts, then do you want the trend to start including men wearing leggings also?

Regarding the last question, I think I know your answer. Go hang out at the bus station!

Legit question, what makes the airport so much different than every other public place where it is acceptable to wear shorts?

Probably that sharing a confined space with strangers thing.

I flew to the Virgin Islands last month in 5" in seam running shorts with my t-shirt tucked in. It made the boat ride to my hotel on the coast way more comfortable than it would have been in, well pants.

Not one person had an issue with my attire. Not one.

Imagine being in a full suit when the aircon gets turned off at the gate and you have to sit on the plane for an hour

Why do you care what another person wears? This is crazy to me. There aren’t many situations where another persons attire would bother me especially something so simple as “wearing shorts”.

Side note. I see comments about always being cold on airplanes and I’ve heard that from others too.

Maybe I’m the only one, but I’m always hot on airplanes.

I always wear shorts unless I’m flying somewhere cold. No flip flops though. I usually wear sneakers as airports are usually a decent amount of walking
